Okay, thanks. Do you have any idea where is a good place to hunt for backpack or luggage in Penang? Not necessarily have to be branded. I think I saw a shop beside Chowrasta market that sells some backpacks. However, I'm not sure if they are selling authentic or not.

for luggage, you can try jusco or parkson, when they got sales, the price are quite reasonable, but i cannot confirm if it is genuine or not
for backpack/rucksack, so far i also saw chowrasta market there selling

You can go to have a look backpacks over Chowrasta, I bought a Vertikal Alaska Bagpack at Chun Yuan Store at Campbell St. (新街*if not mistaken).

Komtar Pacific is having sales now, i think if you go to slazenger luggage there, the promoter might give 20% + 10% discount for purchased luggage.

Jean Francois 60L RM398-30% =RM278.6
Vertikal Alaska 50+10L RM349-20%=RM279.2
Slanzenger 60L RM329-30% =RM232

Hello folks,

I'd like to know the price of some Deuter backpacks that I'm very keen to purchase. Of course, I'm looking for genuine Deuter and not fake nor replica. Anyone that knows where and how much is the price, your inputs are very much appreciated. If you have prior experience with these model, please do not hesitate to share them with me as well. I thank you in advanced.

1. ACT Trail 24

2. AC Lite 22

3. Spectro AC 24

Thanks people notworthy.gif

Thanks for all the replies. Will try to check out Komtar and Chowrasta when have the time. In the mean time, I'm actually looking for Osprey Porter 46 but I couldn't find any information where I can find it locally. Or do you know any backpack that can be open like this?

Hi Kin Zie...

I think the pack you are revering to is a traveling pack. Some call it a hybrid pack. It combines the air traveller pack design 9front loading) with the backpack. A very practical and safe (for the pack) to travel between destinations through flight.

Karrimor, Osprey and Deuter all has come up with their own designs of such pack. I'd recommend you Madam Sia's shop in Pertama Complex.

Again, Mdm Sia shop is not perfect, I hear some complaints about her but then again, I hear more people mention good things about her shop than any other. I have personally purchased items from her and all I can say is that I have been really happy.

BTW...I am not affiliated in any way with here smile.gif

Cheers,

Keong:
The backpack in the picture is Osprey Porter 46. I kinda like it but so far, I couldn't really find a similiar one in Penang. It seems like the only way I can purchase it is through online.

I don't know of any shops with specific capability but you can try those shoe/ bag repair shops in shopping centers. I think Mid Valley has one, Sunway and Summit USJ too.

They are really flash looking shops with hi tech machines that to repair expensive shoes etc. They have big sticthing machines too..so they may be able to help you.

I used Osprey brand. Bought it at KLCC. Actual price is around RM700++ buy i bought at discount price around RM500++. the bag size is 65L but the bad thing is, they dont provide with a free rain coat cover. The bag really nice and the most important thing is, i dont easily feel heavy even though i carry a lot of stuff in it and when u using this bag, your shoulder will not tend to get pain easily. Using it for almost 5 years. Love it and still look like new even though i travel alot
