to be honest, i would like to get a SAMSUNG HD LCD TV...but too expensive

so am gonna get a Philips one cuz my friend bought one and its not bad either he said, plus got 5 year warranty on it

i jz have one question though, when i searched for his Philips model on the net (here's the link Philips 32PF7321-12), there was a "HDMI" feature in it... and i read the first post and there's nothing on this "HDMI" feature.
what does it mean?

this Philips HD LCD TV is abt RM3500 which is like the ceiling for my budget. i know its not FULL HD but do u think it wil b good enough for an Xbox 360? unless u guys can recommend something else better, do let me know ya!

Right now Best Denki and SenQ have similar deals. The DVD player is also Philips, model DVP595K if I'm not mistaken, with HDMI and Divx compatibility. The DVD player on its own is worth RM 499. And yes, from the DVD player to the LCD is thru HDMI. The downside is that the DVD player only has coax and no optical digital output. Not a problem if you have a good amp.

Yup it has. I'm currently trying to find out what it does. Thumbdrives obviously work, and right now I'm not getting much results with portable HDDs.

I have no doubt to say that the one with s-video connection has better picture quality.

The case for Astro its different, you must bear in mind that Astro is a really crappy source. Garbage in, garbage out

Hmmm....at first, i had that kind of impression too..but when i tested the panorama setting (intelligent stretching technology by Sharp), i was full of surprise and never intend to go back to the initial setting......

The Sharp Smart Stretch is nothing new la. This mode stretches the sides more than the center to create an illusion that the person in picture is not too far stretched. They can do this on normal TV programs where the cameraman is sure to deadlock their object in the center of the frame. It doesnt work well for movies.

Anyway, after reading that statement about crawlers where the wordings ar bigger on each side couple of days ago, I've been trying to detect the alleged flaw on my 42 incher Sharp lcd but fail to notice it. Is there something wrong with my set   

Full mode is for 16:9 squeeze picture...which is different than Panorama forsmart stretching of  4:3 aspect ratio, especially for Astro.....what is your WSS setting????? I will never set the full mode for astro......Mind showing the picture flaw?????
