Is the picture really that bad compared to LCD / Plasma ? can the crt slimfit do the 720p and 1080i in both PAL & NTSC ? 2k is half price than lcd

based on www.sharp.com.my and sharp aquos catalogue, all BX series is come with native contrast which is 1200:1

PX series come with native contrast 1200:1 and dynamic contrast 6000:1

Panasonic launched its new 32" LCD TV last Friday with 2 model; 32LX70 and 32LE7. Both price range is expected to be from RM3.3K+ to RM3.K.

just wanna ask....
personally, i havent seen a 1080p movie or game on a LCD before so i just want  to know whether 1080p will make any significant difference to a 40 inch LCD TV? (if compared to 720p or 1080i)

its because a SONY bravia X (40) is 15k ++  compared to a SONY V series which is about 7k for the same size...
Any other brand that is just as good? (like SHARP )

Looking for a 32" LCD here.

From your discussions and my research,

I have shortlisted the
Sharp Aquos BX series for the s-vid and
Samsung R7 series.

I do not know which one is better.
Will be using for ASTRO  + Movies sourced from you-know-where.
My budget can only go up to to RM4k maximum.
So my questions are

1. From the list, which one would be recommended for my usage?
2. Is there anything else you could recommend for 32" LCDs under RM4k
3. I have the Old ASTRO decoder, the old black one got in 2003, so what input should i be using, s-video or component
4. I might be considering purchasing a new DVD player as well, is it recommended if i opt for DVD players with HDMI if what I watch is just DVD-Rs? And Normal DVD9s?

btw, i heard somebody say, using philips pixel 1 or 0, then reduce the sharpness to 0, the image will be clear wor... he say like macam astro HD like tat
