hey guys, I need to open a RHB bank account because the new company only pays salary through rbh bank. I have gone through the RHB website, but it seems to have a lot of different types of saving accounts. Does anyone here know what's the different between them? Thanks alot.

if u need RHB debit card, open MySave Account (RM20/year)

if u dont need anything fancy, can open Basic Savings Account Option II (RM8/year)

not sure if Basic Savings Account Option I (0/year) offers internet banking or not.

Only two types on savings account offered by RHB Bank are worth considering namely MaxSave and Basic Savings Account. My reason being these two accounts offered the highest interest rate of all the savings account in RHB Bank.

You can see the interest rate below :

Should you decide to open the Basic Savings Account, i strongly suggest you to choose Option I which has no ATM card annual fee. I am now using this account with no ATM card annual fee and the interest rate is awesome rclxms.gif

No. If you choose Basic Savings Account Option I, you will still be given an ATM card. Just that you can only withdraw money from any RHB Bank ATM eight times a month and from the 9th withdrawal onward you will be charged RM1 each time.

If you are going to spam their ATM a lot each month then yes, you should open Basic Savings Account Option II because for this account there is an annual fee of RM8 for your ATM card and you are allowed to withdraw for cash as many times as you'd like.

Not to mention that there are also many RHB Bank ATM in shopping malls. It would be very convenient for its account holders rclxms.gif

By the way, the interest rate for Basic Savings Account should be higher. In their website it is stated that balances up to RM10,000 will only earn 0.25% of interest and the effective date is 23rd March 2009. However, in their old website (they just moved to a new website last weekend) it is written that balances more than RM1,000 and up to RM20,000 will earn 0.60% of interest.

I had RM8,000+ in my account last week and my online banking account showed that my money was earning 0.60% per annum. Have emailed them so they will correct it.

Yes. You can. It is even open for business on Sunday, if my memory serves me correctly along with their KLCC branch.
