Yeah, but I checked this with the Sony shop, they don't have any unit on display. The salesman said its is on a per-order basis. I wanted to check the actual unit especially the connections. Sometimes what's published in the spec sheet may not be accurate.

I just bought the sony ht-ct150 and loving it !!!! It serve my purpose of having a small room and not wanting cables running around the room

I'm using a sharp LCD and surprisingly I can have limited control of the soundbar using the TV remote e.g. volume control & on/off (the soundbar will automatically goes to standby whenever I switched off the tv and automatically turned it on whenever I turned on the tv. Unfortunately it will always goes to “tv selection” instead of the last selection I switched off the tv. I guess I need a Bravia tv to have full sync capabilities)

The sound is excellent and loud enough for my small room, in fact it rattle all my stuff in the room including the door at 80% volume. I usually set the volume at 50-70%. I do think the volume might not be sufficient for big room thou

Listen to music is good too; but the sound is more like listening to a hifi system than a true audiophile system with amps & 2 speakers.

It also has 3 HDMI connections and 2 optical audio connections.

All of this is for RM 999 … its a bargain IMO !!!!!

Lastly .... Sony HT-CT150 looks good. The soundbar sits unnoticed in front of my tv but the subwoofer is huge !!! Fortunately the subwoofer look slick with all black & minimalist design.

Pardon me for asking since I haven't seen the actual unit.

May I know if the size of the CT150 soundbar suitable for a 42-inch tv? Or its dimensions more appropriate for 32-inch tvs?

the length is a bit shorter than my 37" tv .. It should be ok unless u want the soundbar to be exactly the same length as ur tv

Added on June 16, 2010, 9:16 pmJust a word of warning thou .. This is not 5.1 or 7.1 system ... It is 3.1 as I never hear any sound behind me smile.gif

Where do u bought your unit...? I checked with Sony MidValley & The Gardens, both don't have....
How about connection to Astro Byond, any issue...?
I think comparable with Yamaha YHT S300 [Rm1600] & Yamaha YHT s400 [Rm1700] in Harvey Norman MidValley....

need to pre-order from any Sony outlet.

Frankly .. I never "audition" the system ... I bought it based on reviews in the net on the older ht-ct100. Luckily it's meet my expectation and worth every sen I paid for it.

I dunno how to compare with yammy thou... But I'm on a budget and that's the reason I got it as the price different is huge.

So far no problem with byond .. I'm using one of the hdmi ports for byond. My tv optical audio will not process the sound, if I change the byond audio to " dts 5.1 only"

its your choice .... if you want 5.1 ..pls don't go for ht-ct150 .. you will dissappointed.

New updates ...

I notice the sound is excellent for for DTS but AC3 is so-so only

The sound for Astro byond is not as good as DTS or AC3 but way better from my tv speaker.
Although Astro byond claims to be DTS 5.1 for its HD channel, it does not register as DTS in my system.

Sorry if i'm posting a lot on ht-ct150 but hey ... i'm really excited about this product.

not really... The rm1k to rm1.5k DVD 5.1 hom theater system all have limited input option for other things like ps3 or xbox so you are limited to DVD for the 5.1 sound. Besides, having a small room limit our choices as well.

I have decided not to get the Sony sf470 which I think is too big for my 8ft x 10ft gaming room. I think I'm gonna order the ct150 tomorrow.

5.1 dvd system...I supposed good for "real surround" since u have actual speaker located behind your viewing area.
Downside-don't have HDMI repeater [eg 3in/1out],consideratiuon of DVD player kaput? so u need to buy new HTiB? whereas if CT150 u always can buy another player.

HT-CT150 is very neat, easy to setup, just connect your Astro Byond,DVD or BluRay Player,PS3 [3 HDMi In] and connect the HDMI output to your HDTV.
I reckon that you can save a bit by buying budget upscale capable DVD Player such as Cornell 3080 [around Rm160] since the Dolby Digital/Dolby Theater System is encoded on DVD disc itself & your HT CT capable of DD/DTS.

got promotion,buy HT Ct150 bundled with PS3 ..total of Rm2099 [u save about Rm200,coz original price like Rm999 + Rm1299=Rm2298]
also got bundled with Sony BluRay player...forgot the model & total price/savings.

Added on June 17, 2010, 5:34 pmI shortlist few HTS/Soundbar....

Philips Soundbar HTS 8140 [original price Rm3200,Courts Mammoth special promotion Rm1600 only]
Yamaha soundbar YHT S300 [Rm1600] and YHT S400 [Rm1700],both after discount in Harvey Norman,MidValley.
JVC Soundbar THBA1 & JVC BluRay Player XVBP1 by Courts Mammoth [Rm1998]
I end up with Sony HT CT150,mainly because of the price [Rm999] and got 3 HDMI repeater.

I'm not from KL... and you know what our Sony Center told me when I want to place order? They said this CT150 sound bar is only exclusive for Sony Styles, Sony Centers are not allowed to sell it! I was like "WTF are you talking about??"... sigh... anyone can advice me? Tomorrow I'm going to try other Sony Center.

PS: I'm from Kuching and the home theater selection here is SUCKS!
