OK guys I decided to go for the Samsung 'Series 7 LA52B750'

It is MYR 13k with a free 22 incher, the wireless streming thingy, a HDMI cable and a HTiB.

Can't wait for it to arrive!  rclxm9.gif

err...this TV can play MKV files without any problem except DTS, which shouldn't be a problem since you've got a HTiB.
You may want to download a few HD movies or get a portable HDD & contact azbro for more details. laugh.gif

Do you know any websites/services that allow me to pay for and download HD movies legally?

Just to correct what I posted earlier, when I went to the shop to actually buy the TV, I decided to get the 55 inch 6 series Samsung instead because it was an identical price, was 3 inches larger and only lacked the 200Hz feature (it is 100Hz instead). Was this a good choice?

It came with the same extra items too.

Yeah, I just did some more research on the differences between 100Hz and 200Hz and it doesn't seem worth the extra dosh...well in my case its not worth losing 3 inches of screen space. Can't wait to get that baby all set up! My feature TV wall should be finished by thursday!

Welcum to the club WBA. The bigger the better. 60" or 70" would be even better.
My distance also about the same so it won't be too big.

Yeah my feature wall was installed today and looks FANTASTIC! TV coming 3pm tomorrow! I'll post pics once I connect the whole thing up!

The great thing about this country is that labour is reasonably cheap, so I didn't have to get my hands dirty biggrin.gif. If I wanted the same sort of setup back in the UK I'd have to do it all myself. Its fun, but just too time consuming tongue.gif

WBA? As in West Bromwich Albion? No no no I don't support that Albion. I'm a Brighton and Hove Albion fan! We're a League 1 club (2 divisions below the premiership).

Do you mean where do they train? Can't remember the name, but we currently play games at the Withdean stadium (yes, it's a dump) but our new Falmer stadium is finally being constructed. You can see t here if you want: http://www.lobstervision.tv/bhafc/#

Ha ha ha. Sorry for the ignorance. It's been a long long time since I followed the EPL. Those days they only have Div 1 to 4 no premier league yet. Lost touch already. Is this team an amateur or professional club team?

They are professional (although sometimes I question that tongue.gif) although we just got a new manager, Gus Poyet. His first match in charge was away at an in-form Southampton where we won 3 - 1! Game was on TV in the UK so I watched it online biggrin.gif

Anyway back to my TV, it came today and looks great! The surround sound set has a DVD upscaler built in which does a decent job (not as good as blu rays however). The only problem is I don't want to have wires to my rear 2 speakers so I have to buy a rather expensive wireless adapter thingy which is RM600 sad.gif It also means I have yet to experience surround sound!

Anyway I have to rate the installer an 11/10 as he was fantastic at explaining everythiung and giving me all the options etc. A really friendly chap. His name is Kenneth and he works at the samsung shop in Sunway Pyramid.

Gus Poyet , was he the former Spurs or Leeds asst manager? He is not British IIRC .Only rmbr the team was always in the white attire. Memory is not good nowadays. My playing times were in the 80's.

You mean the surround set has a built in Amp & DVD player with upscaling functions to 1080p right? Your std DVD's will look better if the upscaling chip is of good quality. If you were to use wireless then you will also need at least 1 or 2 plug points to power the rear speakers also but it will still look much better than having wires all the way from the front to rear unless you have lots of carpet and lay them underneath it.

Enjoy yourself with your new toy and if you need more info and settings on your set then I believe forummer de_lasoul can help you out. He has a similar unit as yours and also tech savvy.
