Nice RX-78 collection....
I didn't realise it has a big plane one?

NokCha, you still havent get the new 30th anniversary SD RX-78 yet.
And there are a few more like full armor, perfect, and super version....
They are using RX-78 as the base also.

Sanguo Liu Bei is another one, that has been a base to most of the Sanguo models.....
And just take a look back, how many versions we have for Liu Bei?

I just downloaded the SD Sanguo animation. (Havent watch yet, just quickly browse through after download)
Funny thing is, in the animation, Liu Bei's hair is exactly the same like the model kits (got a lot of holes)
Looks stupid... smile.gif

I like newer version actually.
I mean the perfect gundam, super gundam style. To me, that ratio looks more cute.
But the problem is the newer version of RX-78 sold at much higher price. (800yen, I believe, compared to BB200, just 500yen) mad.gif

I just realise I have these two in my collection:

BB#158 Tenrei Gundam

BB#172 Gouken Gundam

See the chrome part?
They come in full color, is not what Bandai will restock in June which come with 'full-color sticker'....
Sad. Full color chromed part is much much much prettier than sticker one.

I believe Bandai just wanna test us, they want to see how success is the 'sticker-based' restock.
If is a success, I guess, there will be more and more SD that comes with sticker.
We are moving backward la, man....

So, I say we should boycott those restock.
I think Bandai would find a way to restock the old full color chromed parts.....

I get them when they are being restocked during 2007.

I would rather wait for the chromed version to be restocked.
I believe if everyone boycott the sticker, I dont think Bandai will just sit there and wait since there are so many ppl waiting for these restock (of course, not the sticker version)

Or I am thinking, this could be Bandai's strategy to go with the sticker version first, this is make us 'thirst' for the chromed version first. Its purpose is to stimulate the market.
Then after half a year, Bandai will announce they will re-use the chrome techniques to produce the chromed version to 'fulfill' our needs. But they will then need to increase the price for these chromed version.
I guess this will more match with Bandai's technique in milking our money.

Hope I am right, then we will all get the chromed version (although it may be more expensive, but it worth the price, I am now regret why I didnt get more when Bandai restocked the chromed version during 2007)

No prob. This is the thread for us to ask everything about SD BB Gundam.

But to reply your question, no, now SD requires a lot of painting, especially Sanguo series.
Assemble is easy but painting will be a lot harder.
Somemore Sanguo series armor is a bit colourful, so in order to follow the boxart, a lot of masking and painting are required.
Example:

This is built OOB:

See how 'ugly' the Sanguo series is.... smile.gif

I think the kit so far that need the least painting will be SD Unicorn since it just comes in white and clear pink color....
So, you can consider buying it.

I think the rest should be ok, like those you mentioned since they are using those regular gundam colors (blue, red, white, yellow, Bandai will still make parts into these color, just that Sanguo series is too colorful that it is hard to mold them in different color.)
They may require minimal painting or lining to make it looks nicer.
But still, for long term, you wil still need painting....
