LYN SD BB Gundam Thread 1st Official GroupBuild

Rules & Regulations:

1. SD, BB and D-Style mecha only.
2. All kits MUST be painted. Hand paint, airbrush, or just marker. No paint = not qualified
3. Time frame is 2 months, starting on the 1st of November, and final date is 31 Dec. Then we can have gathering circa that time.
4. The GB is divided into 2 parts: competition or just joining. Only newbies can join the compy. How 'new' you are is self assessment
5. For the competition, GB member will judge and vote.
6. Upon completion, we will meet up somewhere (location TBD) to showoff our works. For those who can't make it, photos would suffice.

Well done to everyone in supporting this.

So, please bring more of your SD gundam collection's picture to this thread.
And we will get more new SD gundam fans to this thread...

And one sad thing is we haven't really make any group build successful so far.
We have two previously.
First is the Zaku groupbuild (We have a lot of Zaku done, but we didnt put it together)
Second is Sangokuden groupbuild, we have a very good idea and concept (but end up a lot of ppl disappear, including me, never done with the small soldier. )

So, since we are in V6 now, should we call for another groupbuild again?
Is it appropriate?
If everyone's ok, we got to be serious this time. Let's get a topic, then we can further discuss the storyline, character and task to interested one.

So far, among us, I just saw bro jayster post his SD TaiShiChi Dom and SD Jiang Wei F91.

At least for RX-78-2, you dont have to paint much.
For Sanguo series, a lot of painting required.

Too bad for SimaYi, I tot is in Nightingale form....

Reference to Nightingale....
Looking at the armor part (bottom), already like Nightingale.
The armor at both shoulder got some spikes, also the same as Nightingale.

It states that SD Unicorn is transformable....
So I guess, the red part should be the internal frame.
Then outer parts (white) come in 2 sets, so that you can change them into destroy mode or unicorn mode. (Since 1000yen, hopefully it is like that la....)

When it changes to Nightingale, it looks very weird.....
That two wings look very small and what happens to the head, looks like macross kits.
The body propostion looks weird.

Better wait for more official pictures then only comment.
Now is still at early stage to complain.

Actually, from my point of view, is that transformable doesn't always is the best to the manufacturer and customer.

If transformable, of course the design and manufacturing cost will get higher, so we are like paying more but get a not-so-good-quality product. And manufacturer sure will trade off a bit on the quality and articulation in order to get higher profit. Most of the time, we wont transform our gundam, right (at least for me)? Not like Transformer.....

If it is not transformable, sure the cost could be less. So, if they are going to charge us with 1000yen, sure they will make it better. Then for those that want to display it in 2 modes, sure will get 2, one for each mode.

No matter how, if you intend to keep unicorn mode and destroy mode, you will buy 2 kits. So, why not we go for higher quality kits?

Just my point of view.
