All I saw on the phone log is Blocked Caller. Can't see anything else.
I did not install any blocked caller software. It was while loading the BlackRa1n apps that this happen. It's either when a user is performing a jb or when the BlackRa1n app is loading, perhaps it will blocked any calls or that I actually did receive a call in which the anonymous caller had this private number feature but hang up before I could answer it. It's really weird... |

Tool for hacking jailbroken iPhones discovered
Miscreants have developed a hacking tool that attacks jailbroken iPhones. iPhone-Privacy-A follows hot on the heels of last weekend's Rickrolling worm that changed the wallpaper on vulnerable iPhones to an image of cheesy '80s pop star Rick Astley. The latest hacking threat exploits the same vulnerability in the iPhone as the ikee worm, allowing hackers to connect to any jailbroken iPhone. Mac-specialist security firm Intego, which was the first to warn of the threat, said the hacker tool is far more dangerous than the Rickrolling worm. "When connecting to a jailbroken iPhone, this tool allows a hacker to silently copy a treasure trove of user data from a compromised iPhone: e-mail, contacts, SMSs, calendars, photos, music files, videos, as well as any data recorded by any iPhone app," Intego warns. "Unlike the ikee worm, which signals its presence by changing the iPhone's wallpaper, this hacker tool gives no indication that it has invaded an iPhone." Hackers might install the Privacy-A hacking tool after scanning open wireless Lan networks, in a hotspot or elsewhere, for vulnerable devices that happen to be connected at the time. The tool might also be run by hackers from their iPhones. There's no evidence that such attacks are actually happening, certainly not on a large scale. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/11/11/iphone_hacking_tool http://www.networksasia.net/print/4246 This post has been edited by Airwave: Nov 13 2009, 09:05 AM |

Certainly scarry for any jailbreak users. All the more important, either don't install SSH or if install SSH make sure to turn it off when not in use. All the more important to change the root password and the user password as well just to be even safer.
Not sure if this is enough since most jailbreak methods already remove all the layered defense that includes DEP as well. It'll have to wait to see what the next exploits is to see what else is insecure. On the hand, perhaps getting the 'Firewall Ip' app would be a good consideration for now. |

Hi!
I just bought a new iPhone 3GS 32GB with 3.1.2 firmware and 5.11.07 and I tried to jailbreak with Pwnage, so everything works until my iPhone restarts after successfully restoring with the custom ipsw. It doesn't restart; just stays in recovery mode. Itunes says like: found iPhone in recovery mode blablabla... How do I get it out of this recovery mode? Or what do I do to prevent this problem? Please reply! Thanks |

Hi guys, just got my iPhone today!
Anyway, i used USBview to check out my iphone because i cant seem to Device Instance Path from my system manager device list properties. Here's the info that i've got from USBview, 0x0004: "Apple Mobile Device (DFU Mode)" 0x0009: "Apple Mobile Device (DFU Mode)" iSerialNumber: 0x03 0x0004: "CPID:8920 CPRV:14 CPFM:03 SCEP:01 BDID:00 SRTG:[iBoot-359.3]" 0x0009: "CPID:8920 CPRV:14 CPFM:03 SCEP:01 BDID:00 SRTG:[iBoot-359.3]" bNumConfigurations: 0x01 does this mean my phone is with the older iboot? i read somewhere in the old thread that as long it's not iBoot 359.3.2 then it's ok. i just want to re-confirm before i decide to JB because i cant afford to have a hang-ed phone with a tethered jailbreak. Thanks! |

I had the same bootrom version as yours and that means it's not the new bootrom version 359.3.2. I had manages to jb fine but I had read that different users had different results during jb depending on methods use. By the way, what is your beginning serial number for 4th and 5th digit out of curiosity? On another note, I got another blocked call again while I was accessing Rock store. It just appeared and then sort of like hang up. No sound triggered. It's really weird as before jb, I don't have such block call status. We all know that a developer who create app for iPhone can actually pull the phone data among others when the users install an app if they so wish. Anyway, it's really weird.... |

Hey guys, I have an Iphone 2G and would like to upgrade to FW 3.1.2
I am only using Windows, but i've read in the first page that blackrain does not support jailbreak/unlock and i shoudln't upgrade the baseband. so what steps should i do? ctrl+shift to restore to FW 3.1.2, then use blackrain straightaway? but how to prevent from upgrading baseband? i hope to get a detailed explanation. thank you in advance |

I've tried looking around the forum but I couldn't find my any answers to my questions.
I currently have an official unlock Maxis 16GB 3GS, OS 3.1.2, Firmware 05.11.07. I have read how easy I can jailbreak using Blackra1n, only down side is to re-run whenever I turn off or run out of battery. Here are some of my questions: 1) After Blackra1n jailbreak, can I still access AppStore, to download new apps and/or update existing apps that I've already downloaded and paid for? 2) Besides full restore, is there any other way to un-jailbreak my device? Hope to get my answers from sifus here. Thanks |

hi guys,
im new to jailbreaking and im a lil confuse. hope u guys can help me. I have a 3G iphone (maxis set). so it's considered as officially unlock right? To start of, there's only two files for me to download is that correct? The OS Version on my phone currently is 3.1.2. So do i still need to download "iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ispw" file? And also redsn0w as im using windows. |

Hi all, my friend just bought an iPhone 3GS from Maxis today and JB it with blackra1n, but he didn't upgrade it to 3.1.2 first. What will happen? It seems that he can't install .ipa file even though he can able to install cydia.
when open with iFunBox, it says iPhone2.1(jailed) So how ar? I told him to restore to 3.1.2 again and JB again but still same thing. |
