Ai,sad, after few sleepless night, decide delay my plan for Dell U2711 and see what will happen in coming month.
There is no more discount for Dell U2410,U2711 until at least 25 March or anybody know can get the coupon outside of promotion period if I want? |

QUOTE(UltraConductor_41 @ Feb 26 2010, 06:25 PM) y get 2711 leh? u use for what purpose? dont think its worth at the moment as current hd technology only stuck at 1080p... Ya,I know. But I am kind of lure by the 2560*1440 resolution.Though when wanna watch 1080p must switch. And must use dual dvi if want the max resolution.Actually I am currently using a nearly 2 years old 28 inch 1920*1200 display. What next you would like to suggest me? |

QUOTE(UltraConductor_41 @ Feb 28 2010, 05:38 AM) icic.... actually its up to you la...cos im just a normal home user only and curious about why spend 2.9k in a 27 inch with resolution that not really useful nowaday and maybe for the future 3 years... Wow,thanks for your opinion. What business can I do with this money:?Do you notice any ghosting on ur U2410 when using it?what purpose u use for dual monitor? design? or gaming? will you feel weird if 2 screen is put side by side with different design, and different quality? something like..err...when you see the left lcd, the color is very vivid, and see the right lcd, the color is less vivid.... i been using the U2410 for the past 5 month since its released... what i can say about the monitor is that it is more than enough for my work, movie, and gaming. With such a big screen...im able to open up 2 "document" or "browser with many many tag" side by side. (although my brain can only process/read half of the screen at 1 time during word processing and browsing.. the above is just some good thing of a big size monitor...any model can done that. For Dell U series...from a view of a casual consumer...the color is indeed better than the tn panel when looking on a photo. but due to im encounter many many problem since the first day im using it...i already lost the joy in enjoying my monitor but more to finding the solution for my current problem. and for someone who like a very bright lcd...this is the best choice for you. My current brightness setting is 0/100 with a contrast of 27/100....its for the sake of my eye Actually, the U2711 cost 2400 few days ago when there is a special promotion, until the last few minutes before the promotion end,I still cannot make up my mind to place an order(sad).I also got Acer S243HL already. Thinking of getting out from TN hell, but failed. Or is that better for me to get a huge LCD TV rather than a pc monitor? |

QUOTE(Michaelbyz23 @ Feb 28 2010, 05:02 PM) I dun think this monitor can support both 1080i and 1080p movie. The resolution itself is too low for it.And I think for full HD there must at least a digital input for it . |

QUOTE(nam3le5s @ Feb 28 2010, 05:44 PM) Can anyone recommend me the best monitor to get? You can go and get Acer S243HL that comes with LED backlight, got 2 HDMI input. If you are on a higher budget ,you can go and get Dell U2410 , you can even go for U2711.But if you wanna use that display together with your laptop,Dell U2711 need dual-dvi for its native resolution(maybe do not suit you).I'm using BenQ S42 laptop with GeForce 9600m GT Thinking of a 24" LCD but no idea which one to get. May want to upgrade to dual monitor in the future (with a desktop). Prefer with HDMI input and speaker ouput and Full HD resolution. Please recommend and also where to get for good price would be great (PJ-KL). Thanks!! |

QUOTE(nam3le5s @ Mar 1 2010, 12:16 PM) Thanks.. I guess abit out of my budget lol.. =P I am using the Acer monitor for nearly 3 weeks. What I can say is this LCD still performing well for now at least IMO.Btw wats the difference between IPS and TN? Im leaning towards the Acer S243HL. Anyone got any reason for me NOT to get this monitor? Also can anyone recommend me should I go to Lowyat or Digital Mall or any other place (good price, after-sales service) for this or to look at other monitors? Much appreciated! Added on March 2, 2010, 1:02 am QUOTE(gto87 @ Mar 1 2010, 07:47 AM) My friend planned to change from 24" to 30" but since he's currently short of RM2k, he change his plan and now he's planning on getting the 27" ultrasharp LCD. For me it's not worth paying RM 2k for extra 3"+ a bit sharper pict but I don't own one so he's not convinced with my words. I also in the same dilemma last week when Dell offered an extra RM500 discount.I wait until the last minute before I decide not to buy this LCD.I decide to wait some more times to see whether there is anymore great display come out.So I ask you guys, Is it worth it changing from 24" TN panel to 27" Ultrasharp LCD for gaming+watching Blu Ray Rip movies+other normal activities. 1 more questions in my mind, should I use that price(around RM2500)to buy a LCD TV or for Dell U2711?Love the high resolution anyway. QUOTE(vearn27 @ Mar 5 2010, 04:37 PM) If you can't tell a different between IPS and TN panel with your bare eyes (please forgot what you read all about panels for that moment), perhaps that would be fine. Yeah,U2410 is affordable these days.If in your budget,I prefer you go on for a IPS panel.Where else you have a sensitive eyes and can tell the colour reproduction isn't as vibrant as an IPS can do, then might as well stick with IPS that's all Furthermore, U2410 is quite affordable these days QUOTE(busyman @ Mar 5 2010, 04:41 PM) hmmmm.. Hahaha, there is plenty of TN display out there. You simply walk in any shop(maybe not IT shop),you could notice a panel with TN .i did not use photoshop.. no gaming.. jusr watching movie, surf net.. mayb i should pay a visit to pc shop.. to compare tn panel as i forgot how tn panel look lk.. haha QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Mar 5 2010, 04:53 PM) Does any PC shop at KL display IPS panel on the shelve? I would be WOW! I am interesting to know too.IPS panel is quite rare out there (for dispay). Anyhow, you won't feel much different if you just watching movie. My cheapo Samsung 2333SW does below average, acceptable for gaming and movie. |

QUOTE(Heihachi777 @ Mar 7 2010, 12:39 AM) is it a black dot or bright dot? some conpany allow for rma with 1 bright dot, 5 black dot or more is common Actually you can reject the goods you buy within 7 days.(Or just change to a new 1 if any problem arise).P/S:Maybe it also depends on where ,who you buy from . |

QUOTE(zerorating @ Mar 11 2010, 07:41 PM) whis is completely false, benq dont make its own panel. samsung does make panel but not used on all their product, same as acer (which partly own AU Optronics Corporation) and LG (LG-Philips) Yaya, this is what Samsung always do,maybe same model of display when produce in different batch, comes with different panel(Maybe some own panel or some from OEM).QUOTE(Heihachi777 @ Mar 11 2010, 10:54 PM) Is it waste of money if buying a dell ultrasharp lcd just for pc gaming purpose as i found the response time is longer compare to common lcd??? Nonono, the color(if you ever saw a IPS panel) is different with what ordinary TN panel offer. And the response time(I dun think is a major issue though someone said there is ghosting). And Dell Ultrasharp comes with Premium warranty service.People paid the premium for ultrasharp mainly for photo editing right? Any other purposes? Thx |
