QUOTE(davidlow7 @ Nov 9 2009, 02:26 AM) They are different type of players but probably he can be as good as CR7 and Obertan is more towards a "team player" than CR7 was. Valencia is good but he lost out in term of physical to Chelsea players.. well, he should ask Fletcher how to do more "gym work" ..... He needs to build up his physical a little bit and I am sure the lad is going to be good. dude..valencia is more muscular then flecther..i'm sure of that..

maybe my standards are higher LOL. i like the more urgent united. the one that played in spurs and man city game. this is not about winning game tho. heck even the blackburn game was better than this.
yes you may argue we are against chelsea and its harder to score. but united need to attack. i been seeing an attacking united for years. i felt we had no urgency to attack and just waited 90mins to be over. rooney alone cant work =_="

QUOTE(Wan @ Nov 9 2009, 02:10 AM) We were great I thought. Playing away from home to a team very in form according to everyone and almost everyone didn't give us a chance at all. But we showed we were classy today. We control things, and we just didn't get the goal and they did. It was an even contest. Based on that performance, they didn't deserve to win and we didn't deserve to lose. But it's based on results, not performance and they got that vital goal so they were the winner tonight. 5 points ahead.. not gonna be easy, but it's only the start of November. A lot will happen between now and May. I 2nd that. On a more serious note: OMFG PRESS THE f***IN PANIC BUTTON!!!1!

Flecther is holding the mid really well today, even with the likes of Deco, Lampard, Essien and Ballack swarming around

We're missing a scoring midfielder. Most teams see there are no real threat from the middle of the park. Giggs and Valencia are from the flanks, Rooney and Berbatov from the top. Carrick can't even put a shot on target anymore, and Anderson is fast becoming like him. The central midfield now seems exist to pass the ball to the flanks for crosses in.
I miss Cantona.

QUOTE(kael90 @ Nov 9 2009, 02:29 AM) i think he suits well with tat body....sneaking through those defenders easily can even sneak through between legs But i do agree with whoopa, i think what you meant is the spirit and the "feel", once they start rolling, there's no stopping them. The team still does attack, but not with the spirit and feel when Ronaldo is around. Rooney used to be able to give that aura during the earlier season, now seems like he lost it as well...

QUOTE(aztechx @ Nov 9 2009, 02:21 AM) we were indeed doing well until the goal went in..couldnt believe how well we were playing considering the fact that we had brown and evans up against the likes of drogba and anelka..and we matched chelsea at their own game doing well against the heavyweight midfielders they had..god this hurts.. Added on November 9, 2009, 2:22 amits not the end of the world but who wouldnt hate losing in a game we could have won..and that heroic stuff from evans..i better not say more.. Same here. Quite surprised how we started the game and keep that level of performance throughout the game(well, until we turn to 442, which we went a bit shit). The players were passing the ball calmly even though there was players everywhere. Our 3 CMs against their 4cms.. and we were on top of things(okay, maybe we matched them and just edge them a bit). Feel kinda proud actually after seeing everyone even among us didn't give us a chance in the game. It doesn't feel good of course losing another big game, and especially something like that, but I think everyone should take heart from the performance we put out. This give me a bit more confidence in that 433 formation(Fletch-Carrick-Ando combo, and Roon alone upfront supported by Valencia and another one) for the big games and Europe where we will definitely use it.

i think i will be the pessimist in this thread tho. we are man utd. not man city. this would have been a good result for other teams but not utd. too much expectation i think lol
