Most liquor are sold in 1 litre bottles and that's the amount ONE person is entitled after 48 HOURS minimum. So if you have ,say three others who don't buy, you can ask them to bring it out for you. Cigarettes is 200 sticks per person. Don't buy DOM Benedictine as price is almost the same as mainland and the more expensive type you buy the more tax is evaded. rclxms.gif

Note also that 1 litre is 250ml more than those sold in mainland, so consider the price accordingly. Some people buy Guiness Stout and beers but they are also entitled to 4 cans only as it is nearest to 1 litre also. tongue.gif

Hi.. just came back from Langkawi.. everything is great but just wanna share my experience..

Bring extra clothes if you went up to telaga 7 or you'll regret it. (the journey up is a bit of a challenge, you don't wanna go down again just to take your forgotten extra baju)..The Telaga tujuh was bit a let down tho.. Too many man-made construction on the waterfall.. (yes ON the waterfall path).. should left it the way nature intends.. Don't eat any junk food while scaling the stairs or you might get robbed/molested by the monkeys.. seriously..

Weather was quite hot for the past few days.. needs to drink lotsa water to stay hidrated..but with all the water retention.. didn't look good strolling the beach shirtless tongue.gif

The best-price chocolate is located at Azio Emporium in Kuah the price differ as much as RM2 (-but this is my own observation-), so if you intend to buy a lot, you get to save a few bucks. (dunno bout the liquor and cigars coz not keen on buying.. the 'dun break my heart' iklan really touches my heart tongue.gif )

If you plan to board the cable car.. DO NOT go there on Wednesday. The ticketing counter open 2 hours late that day (1200).. but the queue will start as usual (before 1000). But if you really have to, plan to arrive at 1500, the queue is shorter and the waiting time is not as crazy as the morning queue.. (trust me.. the morning queue on Wed really looks like earth is going to blow up soon and the cable car will carry them to Mars doh.gif )

Don't plan to buy everything on your way back at Jetty/airport.. The price (although not all) is a bit high.

TQ.. Have a nice trip people icon_rolleyes.gif

Cable car and island hopping should not be miss. However it also the most expensive.
*
Island hopping was only RM 35/pax for me and I think that s quite reasonable/affordable. The package was for 4 hours and 4 islands. It was a great experience.. Just look out for some local-sun-kissed-skin-men holding some pamphlets at Chenang beach (but normally they'll look for you). Words of caution: Speak Mat salleh and he ll give you a Mat salleh price tongue.gif

Cable car is RM15 per pax with Mykad (RM30 for people who still ask mummy to keep theirs and bring photocopy doh.gif )

....I think both are cheap... icon_rolleyes.gif

Hello!

Anyone stayed in Landcons Hotel or heard of it? Any reviews and feedbacks?

Am going there with friends this weekend.
and also, we're going for 2D1N only, so, can I bring any liquor back?

Added on December 27, 2010, 10:01 pmOh ya, what activities is recommended for 2D1N trip? considering it'll be quite packed there as its New Year this weekend.

I stayed there for a 4D3N trip but mine was a Deluxe room so I can comment on the apartment.

Mine has a flat screen tv that has SD card slot so everynite we reviewed all the photos taken that day.
The review in Trip Advisor said that the buffet breakfast was a letdown but I think they have quite a lot to choose from:
roti jala alternate with canai/roti tisu, fruit yoghurt, eggs (all kind: just name it they'll cook it) cereals, nasi lemak, mee etc etc
The location is great (if you are into shopping) coz it is near Kuah Town and some of the cheap/nice seafood are nearby but not so suitable if you're looking for a stroll on a beach (they don't have any) and make sure you have some sort of transportation coz the main road is about 700m away from the hotel.
Swimming pool is small but the view from it wes great.
Staffs are friendly, both at front-counter and the pool maintenance.

So, let's say for my return flight from Langkawi to Penang, there is only 1 luggage to be checked-in which is mine, while my friend has the hand luggage, is it possible to put 2 bottle of liquors together inside the check-in luggage which are supposed to be ours (1 for each person) for convenience purpose?

brows.gif Yes, it is OK, so long as there are two persons entitled. Actually you can TRY to bring another two bottles out after you checked in your luggage. brows.gif They used to do that. Once your luggage(with the bottles) are passed and sticker stuck on, they are checked in. You can actually buy another two bottles at the airport and hand carry it in.

Disclaimer ! I know it is been done and it works but I am not responsible if you are taxed if you are caught through. HA,ha.

Btw, my parents told me that electrical appliances will be slightly cheaper in Langkawi. is it true?
Because they say they used to buy from the Langkawi.

Oh that's the old trick you mentioned in your previous post brows.gif
Gonna try it anyway laugh.gif
How about putting the liquor in the hand baggage and still buy liquor at the shop @ airport? drool.gif

Well, when I book the flight, I thought that the liquor is 1L each and they wouldn't allow me to put those in the hand baggage or hand-carry it onto the plane, because of the max 100ml liquid/aerosol bla bla bla allowed on plane for hand baggage, so I bought the RM20 15kg check-in luggage for the return flight haha doh.gif
