actually, ever since i got myself a HT system, most of the time i will tahan and wait for BDs to come out. no need ma farn fight for parking, queue for tickets, get bad seats, people kicking you, people eating sotong, go tandas also can 'pause' ...

true also. Video and audio quality also better. Cinema looks worse than 720p projector many times i observed.

i think weta studio recycle the mecha in avatar, but i think the district 9 version is cooler

Added on December 27, 2009, 11:42 pmthe movie a lot of time looks like a reality tv show kind of feel with the digital camera, most of the time it have very deep depth of field which contribute to the cheap digital camera production feel. but i kind of like their style of cinematography many of of the scene are either dark or in a twilight setting. the best feature of digital camera are during the dark there is minimum lighting required to get a sharp focus making the night scene more realistic, but a the same time it cause motion blur during fast moving scene.

Added on December 27, 2009, 11:45 pmi just go to watch avatar this week, the AQ quality is uneven, the is even time of pause in the sound, the screen also feel too dark and not perfectly in focus, maybe it is just the problem with the GSC in time square

Crap lah. The AQ s*cks big time. Loud and noisy too for those normal cineplex.

Now, I am waiting for District 9 from taukeh Hopefully, its AQ is top notch.

Tested the Terminator Salvation BD this afternoon. The 7-11 scene, the gigantic robot's footsteps really stomped my room. The bass is ridiculously deep. Even the truck engine's note can be felt. Outstanding.

The other scene is where Connor flattened the ground near the river after Marcus escaped. Sheer awesome LFE. The whole room is being pressurized by the deep LFE. Immensely powerful!

The mecha in Avatar is James Cameron's recycled idea.... remember Aliens?

yeah do see the connection between power loader and the matrix thing.. except for the machine guns..

Others similar creations (in essence, not physically per se) are Iron Man (but it's more costume...), ATAT Walker in Empire Strikes Back, in Starship Troopers if not mistaken...

when i watch in summit, the cinema project dropped, i can only see half of the screen, about 5mins++
somemore is the best part of the movie..
cant wait to rewatch in BD
