Re octopus card, if you are using it to buy drink or snacks from convenient store too, i think you can top up 200 HKD first

I'll be staying at Novotel on Nathan Road in HK. Anyone has experiences in that hotel? Good/bad/scary? Please do share!

Also, can recommend places to eat/do and shop? I like pork, dim sum, bubble tea, and pretty much any good food! My friend told me to go to Macau for a few hours and watch "The House of Dancing Waters". Any comments on that?

Lastly, shopping wise, I don't care much about brands. I'm just looking for affordable and nice things (indie shops & such).

For sure you need Hong Kong$ but Macau no need. HK$ widely used in Macau. End of Feb shoulb be ~ CH/Genting weather.

For one person RM2K- enuf already. transport is reasonably cheap using MTR & in Macau hop-in to those free casinos shuttle buses however ferry ticket is not cheap. Only need to prepare for food. Avg HK$15- HK20/plate/pax/meal can liao

I would really appreciate the assistance, newbie greenhorn here going to Hong Kong for first time with gf.

I have already found out all the prices-oceanpark,disneyland,food,etc..and budgeted correctly.

The only thing left is the transport/octopus card. How much will it cost to go to places in 7 days? This includes the transport to the peak,stanley,etc.

I heard 100 HK is enough for per person for 3 days. So would 400 hk for two people be enough for a week?

from air port normally you guys take cab or bus to mongkok?

And got any special food that is a must try in HK? tried their curry fish ball, not really that good. The fish ball is like our keropok lekor, soft soft 1.

act, no much good b'cos the rate will be high.... Sometime they just like RMB = Macau  is like 1:1 while HKD : Macau also same as 1 : 1..... So more advise is use HKD compared with RMB from my past experience...

ocean park = ride for adult , see dolphin,panda,sea lion

disneyland = ride for kid , take pic with mickey mouse etc

Currently, i booked 4d 3n Macao + HK (Arrive Macau, Depart HK). Then only i notice didnt have enough time for Macau + HK. So only going HK.

So now with the current AA sale, i wan to buy another one way depart Macau making it 8d 7n total incurred fixed expenses add another rm1380 for 2 pax. (air tix, ferry and 4nites accomodation)

Worth it ah? so i can cover Macau and have more time for HK
