tq!!!  laugh.gif  pccw .. go find the type of prepaid they got. hopefully not expensive
*
bear in mind, PCCW offers wifi, not 3G

it's WIFI. although they got like 9000++ hotspots in HK, but sometimes is super slow, and since wifi is so sux in terms of area, soo when you are on the move, for example, if you want to use google maps to find a place, it's basically useless

ur budget is enough for food, transport, drink and little bit of shopping

Re octopus card, if you are using it to buy drink or snacks from convenient store too, i think you can top up 200 HKD first
*
when i at HK, i straight top up HKD500 when i bought it, end up not enuf top up another HKD500 biggrin.gif

when back refund back HKD100+ or so

spend so much coz buy beer, also when I dine at a place that accept it, i will use it because i dont want all those coins

Hey guys,

I'll be staying at Novotel on Nathan Road in HK. Anyone has experiences in that hotel? Good/bad/scary? Please do share!

Also, can recommend places to eat/do and shop? I like pork, dim sum, bubble tea, and pretty much any good food! My friend told me to go to Macau for a few hours and watch "The House of Dancing Waters". Any comments on that?

Lastly, shopping wise, I don't care much about brands. I'm just looking for affordable and nice things (indie shops & such).

Thanks for your help! Much appreciated!
*
house of dancing waterS? i heard it's awesome but you definitely need to get it WAY BEFORE you go to HK

For sure you need Hong Kong$ but Macau no need. HK$ widely used in Macau. End of Feb shoulb be ~ CH/Genting weather.

For one person RM2K- enuf already. transport is reasonably cheap using MTR & in Macau hop-in to those free casinos shuttle buses however ferry ticket is not cheap. Only need to prepare for food. Avg HK$15- HK20/plate/pax/meal can liao
*
HK$15 to HK20 is quite low loo...

last time when i was there, i usually spent at least HKD100 for 2 person

but well, thats also mainly because i dint order like just 1 bowl of mee and settle with it, usually will order something extra...

anyway, RM2000 per person shud be very enuf la

Thanks for the advice, for oceon pack ticket...they got 2 option, whats difference? 门票and换票证
*
disneyland what you get is the ticket (门票), which means when you are there, you terus go in straight using it

while for the NP360, you will get the 换票证, where you will still need to queue up to change your ticket and then only queue up for the cable car. The queue length of changing the ticket with a 换票证 is like 1/500 if you were to compare with those who only bought their ticket there lol

same goes to oceon park 换票证?

for Disney's ticket, do we need to specific the date? if i go to ding ding to get the ticket on monday, then i go on tuesday, possible?
*
ocean park i dint go during my last trip, but yea, if you got 换票证, you will need to queue up again when you are there.

if Disney, the ticket is for all year, except some particular date you need to buy those specific day ticket, go to disney website and check about it

my last trip, i go to get the ticket from ding ding, and went to Disney on the day itself, so definitely it's possible

Hi guys!

I would really appreciate the assistance, newbie greenhorn here going to Hong Kong for first time with gf.

I have already found out all the prices-oceanpark,disneyland,food,etc..and budgeted correctly.

The only thing left is the transport/octopus card. How much will it cost to go to places in 7 days? This includes the transport to the peak, stanley, etc.

I heard 100 HK is enough for per person for 3 days. So would 400 hk for two people be enough for a week?
*
400hk for 2 ppl purely transport? should be okay if u din't take cab at all

act, no much good b'cos the rate will be high.... Sometime they just like RMB = Macau  is like 1:1 while HKD : Macau also same as 1 : 1..... So more advise is use HKD compared with RMB from my past experience...
*
hkd and macau is around the same rite?

last time i go, they din take 1rmb as 1hkd/macau la, but i doubt the exchange rate will be good at all

ocean park = ride for adult , see dolphin, panda, sea lion

disneyland = ride for kid , take pic with mickey mouse etc
*
actually ocean park not really meant for adult la. if for someone who don't like all those thrill rides, then not really fun d

while for disney, if you are someone like me who doesn't grow up with disney cartoon, then you will just meh in many things....

What u guys think about this

Currently, i booked 4d 3n Macao + HK (Arrive Macau, Depart HK). Then only i notice didnt have enough time for Macau + HK. So only going HK.

So now with the current AA sale, i wan to buy another one way depart Macau making it 8d 7n total incurred fixed expenses add another rm1380 for 2 pax. (air tix, ferry and 4nites accomodation)

Worth it ah? so i can cover Macau and have more time for HK
*
although i find that 8d 7n is a bit too much for HK+ macau, but i still find that what your plan is worth. 4d 3n is seriously too short to most places. Make it a nice long trip, then next time can visit other place
