Whoops, I meant why the series itself didn't continue. I know there's Millennium Fight 2000 Pro and Millionaire (lol) Fighting 2001. Unless you meant any other CVS after that. Capcom's output really was at an all-time high during the Dreamcast era. I even loved the Spawn game, which was in Sg Wang back then. And of course, Power Stone.... Hey wait a sec, outside of Street Fighter and Darkstalkers, most of Capcom's fighting games stopped at 2! Power Stone, Capcom VS SNK, Tech Romancer (there was Cyberbots before it), Star Gladiator, Rival Schools, Marvel VS Capcom. Although there was that rumour about MVC3...

Don't like it very much. I think the Neo Geo hardware can't really keep up with the (then) cool graphics of CVS. In CVS, projectile attacks are rendered in 3D, instead of sprites. SNK did something similiar in SVC Chaos, where projectiles have a rendered look. Looks weird to me. And seriously, what's with Sagat's sprite?

I prefer to call it "bone cancer". biggrin.gif And of course I love the Vampire (or Darkstalkers) series. Of all the CPS2 games, I love Darkstalkers the most. Awesome animation, good story (by fighting game standards of course). And it was the 1st game I know to use LP-LP-forward-LK-HP as an actual command input. Up till then, all fighting game moves were all circular motions or charging.

*Googles Biosensor N64* Oh, that's what it does. If this was an additional purchase, I'd be super pissed, since it supports a grand total of 1 game. Since it's a peripheral that came with Tetris 64, then it's fine. Unless the purchase price was super expensive, like say, Steel Battalion.

O.o OMG, Jetman. I used to watch this, along with Maskman, Kamen Rider and Gyaban (or Gaban if you want). 1991 was a great year to be a kid. Oh, how I long to be a kid again sometimes. So, how does Jetman play? One of those scrolling beat 'em ups?

If only the English voice work was better, I could enjoy it a bit more. Still, it was gorgeous to look at during the DC days. I prefer Skies of Arcadia over Grandia II though.

I never played the 1st Grandia game past the opening act. I heard good things about the Saturn original, one of those things that never got translated. Then Working Designs (I think?) picked up the game for PlayStation. I must say, the game is completely lost on me. I quite liked the Lunar games, but this one... just no. Must be the horrific English dub work. Story/gameplay-wise though, how is Grandia?

<Checks the Internet> O.o Sony picked up Grandia!? So I guess it's quite telling the localization is... iffy. There was a Sony-published RPG called Legend of Dragoon on PS1. I happen to hate that game, but there are others who love it. What about you Gundam?

The peak days of PC gaming. How I miss them. Between Origin Systems, Lucasarts and Sierra, these guys were cranking out classic after classic game. And id sofware, Bullfrog, Apogee had great games too. EA was cool too, back when they were still Electronic Arts. I loved the hell out of Space Hulk, probably the only guy to play it in my whole school. Did anyone else enjoy Road Rash back in the early 90s?

Oh, I didn't miss them. Just listing out the ones dear to me. There were definitely others like Virgin Interactive, Gremlin, Interplay, Psygnosis, SSI (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons!). Props for mentioning Shogo:MAD. I'm still waiting for a proper sequel to that. But nope, we keep seeing more FEAR. Sorry, F3AR.

Both Capcom and Konami were king of platform/action games during the 8 bit era. Although I am more fond of Konami for providing lots of childhood memories. U, U, D, D, L, R, L, R, A, B, Start. Also, U, R, R, D, D, D, L, L, L, L, Start. biggrin.gif

No wonder the Super C trick didn't work the other day, it was R, L, D, U, A&B doh.gif

But what does A&B means? A then B or A and B together? hmm.gif
*
Gee, don't know about that. The code is R, L, D, U, A, B, Start. For 2-player mode, it's R, L, D, U, A, B, Select, Select, Start. Where did you read about the A&B thing?

As an old man now, I can just look back and smile at good times past. I can't bloody complete even the 1st stage of Megaman 9 on normal, let alone any of the old games. Try going back to the 1st TMNT game on NES. I remember the game was hard, but I was able to at least get to the 3rd stage without losing a turtle. Ugh, retro is just for old man talk now cry.gif

FFX International with Another Story? I remember when I wanted the bonus disc so much, I bought FFX International just a couple months after getting the PAL release. What I didn't know was that the NTSC/J Asia version did not include the bonus disc. Just a 2002 calendar which I still keep. The game I sold not too long after that, since the PAL release already included the International grid sphere. Too bad it ran like molasses...

I was thinking of firing up some Dreamcast games after reading some 9/9 memorials on the Internet. Don't know what should I play though. I have Tech Romancer and Power Stone off the top of my head.

Spent the whole Raya break playing Super Robot Wars Alpha 3 on PS2, finished 1 story and half way on another. Can't remember the last time I spent so much time playing game sweat.gif

Finished + understand the story? Your nihon-go must be good then. My bloody inability to read kanji stumped me in most text-heavy games. Otherwise I would have tried out Shining Force III scenario 2 and 3.

Only like the Ray Force from the trilogy, can't comment tongue.gif

I actually had to look up Ray Force to know what it was. I first heard of Ray Storm for PS1, which I never played until much later. I did however play a lot of Layer Section on PC (later the Saturn original). Of these 2 games, I also much prefer Layer Section (not calling it Ray Force!). Too bad Taito is not that active in arcade development anymore. I want another Psychic Force!
