ok but the manual say can do 7.1 depending on the source (i think refering to BD or DVD)...just need to place the speaker position accordingly...
I suspect with true 7.1 HD sources , you will get both the surround and back channel sound output from both the surround and back speakers and not separately.

Please update your testing results smile.gif

Since the 819 is a 5 channel amp design, I doubt it could output the surr back as a discrete channel (independent). It sld be a matrixed source from surr channel. Moreover, it will also seriously burden the avr if you do hook 7.1 setup as it is only meant for 5 channels (150W @ 6ohms x 5). Expect a drastic drop in performance especially at higher vol and distortion kicks in easily sweat.gif . I would advise a 5.1 setup for this avr smile.gif

thanks for your info bro, yes i dont intend to do a 7.1 setup as for me 5.1 is sufficient for time being...but i will experiment once i get my hand on a 7.1 source.

819 confirm 5.1......I check the pictures of the rear of the amp....the other two are for Speaker B

Speaker A are the main fronts....Speaker B is for another set of speaker just in case you wanna install another set of speakers in another room smile.gif
As mention in page 22 or connecting the speakers

919 is real 7.1 but if wanna use another set of Speaker for another Room...it can only be configure to 5.1 + 2 in another room as mention in page 16 or connection the equipment

This is quite standard for most amps...you guys long time never play with the backside..only fiddle with the front side doh.gif drool.gif laugh.gif

OK...mystery solved smile.gif
