Large...for any other speaker except satellite type speaker...

(thats why I rarely switch on the subs)

like that quite a waist if dont use subwoofer... sweat.gif

At the end of the day, it's your system, you have your reasons, and if you are happy how it sounds, nobody can say you are wrong.
*

yup... actually as i felt that set "small" for front speaker, at least the bass will be "under control" by subwoofer by adjusting the volume until my expectation... if set as "large", felt a bit like "boom boom box" from front speaker sweat.gif

as we know we cant adjust the bass & treble level by tuning at the amp, but i think it will effect other speakers' output quality as other speakers may lesser bass if i tuned the amp based on the "large" settings for front speaker...

why my woofer don't work if i change the setting the subwoofer to yes.Its only work when I change the setting to plus.
*

if set the front speaker to "large", most of the bass will divert from subwoofer to front speaker... u still can heard the bass from subwoofer but only the lower Hz which cant no within the front speaker's woofer cone HZ range...

so you only can heard very minimum sound from subwoofer as no much voice used super low Hz unless u watching action movie... for normal music enjoyment i dont think u can heard any voice from subwoofer...

so if u set the subwoofer as "plus", the amp will deliver the same level of bass generated from subwoofer when front speaker set as "small"

wondering how to do auto mcacc with 820?

i trying to do it several times just now... seem failed to do so...
thought just plug the setup mic onto 820 and trigger the auto mcacc from the screen?
but i no managed to heard anything from speakers and the screen indicate my living too noisy... doh.gif
maybe 820 "thought" it sent the audio sound and the ambient too noisy till the mic cant capture the audio sound...

i tried to reset the 820 but still no differences, and try to do manual test tone but all speakers is ok... anyone can help? sad.gif

Edit:
just managed to get the sound come from 820 from left speaker only... but stucked at front speaker same as farsight... any idea?

Edit:
another problem when doing calibration...

any idea? rclxub.gif

Try doing it at night/early morninig when everyone is sleeping
*

i did it when midnight, definitely quiet enough...

anyway, just now i tried again... i lifted the mic cable away from floor seem improved (maybe my house tiles creating interfere?) and able to calibrate 5.1 speaker for once accordingly but i must place the setup mic in front the speaker within 1+ feet... the speaker size, db, distance also tuned in the system settings...

if i placed it at the sofa seat which about 6-7feet away, just feel like the mic cant heard (like deaf) the buzz sound from speaker and it claim that cant heard due to ambient noise... also try on the coffee table... no differences unless i place right in front of speaker... overall feel like the mic deaf... anyway, i cant see any obvious hole which can transfer sound into mic...

Or maybe you put the mic too close to the speakers so it cannot do the measurement.
*

the amp no able to cablirate within 2-6+ feet distance...
unless i place it right in front the speakers within 1 feet, then can calibrate successfully...

mine cannot poke through one ler. check your cable. positive and the negative terminal correctly done.
*

checked... red - red, black - black...

all speakers have the buzz sound when doing calibrate, hence the speaker size, speaker db tuning and speaker distance in 820 also tuned accordingly unless i place the setup mic right in front of speaker...

anyway, is your testing tone same as the video below (27-29second and 39-41second)
the sound from front left speaker only, if mic failed to capture the sound then the receiver wont proceed with other speaker...

yes, same sound.
*

just back from hiway laser, same sound what i heard...
but my mic working fine there...

have to figure out what wrong later... doh.gif
maybe relocate the 820 to open area but tiring to move it again & again... sweat.gif

Added on March 22, 2011, 10:35 pmi think i figure out what is the problem... highly believe is because the interferces from LCD TV...i tried to cablibrate amp all the while switch on with LCD TV (can see the 820 setup menu as show in youtube previously), so i switch off the LCD TV and immediate can calibrate successfully... sweat.gif doh.gif

maybe bcos of the interference from the TV such as the power noise and the speaker frequency causing the problem...
i will redo another testing again tonight to finalize all the settings...

Hi guys, anyone experiences that pioneer vsx 510 or 810 could not handle 3D BD iso file? AV receiver could not send output to TV, no video no audio and subtitle.

However media player direct to TV is working fine
