May be you can call to Desa Home Theather either in Lyp or Complex Desa to ask for 819-K. If my memory serves me well, I think the price should be around rm1500-rm1700 from Desa HT.

in june 09 i buy the pioneer todoroki : vsx818+srs3w('09 edtn) +srs3tb for rm2300.
originally the price was supposed to be rm1800 for rs3, but change it with vsx818 so get rm2000, the next day that tokey tell me that the pioneer have revamped the market price for rs3 to rm2300, rs7 to rm3000 or somewhat like that. ive confirm the statement by checking the market price at courts mammoth rs3 rm2300 from last time it should be rm1800.

anyway that is the past story. im quiet satisfied with my ht (for now)
wishing to get my hand on elite series when i work later

which surround mode you guys prefered between the dolby surround mode or the advance surround mode?

depends on movie...for action i just leave it as it is get source from main audio like DTS (1st Choice) if Dolby then i set to pro logic 2 movie and i set drama if talk to much...

I'm planning to buy the Pioneer VSX-1019 from the states and get a friend to carry it back for me. Can someone please give me some advise on this? Is this a good idea? It appears to be much cheaper buying it online in the US (USD500 x 3.5 = RM1750).. much cheaper than the price I was quoted in KL. What do you think?

I still remember my friend bought avr from us n the voltage they use is different n finally he have to buy adaptor to power up. So careful about the voltage.

So in the end the cost is the same?...hehe..

Anyway, I like the Sony STR-DH500 US model..all the basic stuff I need including 3 HDMI inputs....all at USD199!!
Called up Sony Malaysia direct, they say cannot customize due to safety regulation and warranty issues, blah blah blah...

Hmm... how much would an adapter cost? Anyone with any ideas? I thought it was only about RM100 or so..

Why can't they make it 110-240v...

I dont think u can get for 100, i still remember he went to one electrical shop to custom made becos the amp is quiet high not the voltage.

Okie.. correction.. I probably need at least a 500w-1000w step down transformer, which should cost me between RM150-250. The US manual says 350w power consumption. BUT I get to save about RM1800 (its half the price in US). I got quoted RM3600 for the VSX1019 in KL. So minus the transformer I'm still up RM1500!! I think....

Still think it is ironic that the US unit is made in Malaysia - but I have to go half way around the world to pay half price and go through the hassle of getting transformer.. Anyone one where the Pioneer factory is? maybe got unit fall off truck..

Better first find out whether Pioneer Malaysia will repair or not if got problem.

Yeah..warranty issues, safety issues and since its a Receiver as well, the tuners frequency as well.
