With the X-Fi bass boost in the x-fi control panel or use foobar2000. By default S730 can be boomy if you set the SW at max, but nowhere as boomy and punchy as Z5500. S730 and Z5500 subwoofers are tuned at different frequencies, that's why they have a different characteristic.

i did some research on the S730 frequency response some time back. it is not 'oomph' as i said so it didnt give as much bass on the lower frequencies range (bass i love you) since it is tuned higher.

lots of watts doesn't mean anything if not designed for that specific purpose. frankly speaking, edifier signature is not into bass. i've tested wide range of Edifier speakers and not one of them are very bassy.

haha, im also looking for a new speaker. but so far nothing really catches my attention so well just stick with my current speakers first. if you're happy with Z2300 i think you can try to upgrade the satellites.

depends but im pretty sure some nice bookshelf maybe suitable for the Z2300.

i have a question, i'm currently eyeing on 2 edifier speakers but don't know which one is better, i haven't test them out yet.

the one i'm interested in is Edifier C3 and S330D.
