should be Win7 x64...
anyway, eastwest, the problem lies in the adoption of x64 OS... S42 came out at the time when the public and OEM have some interest with x64 OS due to the limitation of RAM on x86 OS... S42 by default came with Vista x86, and thus, even if u do the free upgrade, it will still get u Win7 x86 also... thus the lack of x64 driver on BenQ support page... when i was using the older S41 and switched to Vista x64, i had some problem looking for drivers as well... but of course less troublesome as S42... there's no hybrid graphic on S41.. . |

QUOTE(eastwest @ Nov 16 2009, 02:34 PM) Thanks if u want to use Linux, install Window then install Linux, whichever distro u like...i'm using windows 7 64bit ....but have to reformat and install again because first time installation, I didn't format the linux partition... I thought after install 7 can use linux with dual boot option but it does not work Maybe install with 32 bit os after this, depend on situation Windows would rewrite the whole MBR such that it is the only boot option... while Linux would add on the Windows' MBR so that u can choose which u want to boot up to... Added on November 16, 2009, 11:43 amso guys, diary/planner... wat do u think?? ?good enuf??? This post has been edited by astria: Nov 16 2009, 11:43 AM |

@astria, sounds good, but get a cute and memorable(special) one
Added on November 16, 2009, 12:13 pm@eastwest: the 3.06 bios will disable detection for ur intel card, so yes, basically as long as u use that bios, there is no intel card in ur system, means cannot use at all, only way is to flash back to hybrid bios also, the link i posted have 64-bit drivers also, try that one out first..note, the temp is reported to be higher then the DoX modded one, but still acceptable..
