correct me if i'm wrong,but isn't *#7370# a soft reset? I read it somewhere..the only hard reset is pressing the green+red+Camera+power button together..

The reset will restore all the phone’s settings to factory default and delete all user info. You need to use the dialer to enter this code *#7370#.

Hard Reset
Hard reset only works if you had previously updated the phone to v20. Please make backup before applying this type of reset, since it will restore the phone’s settings as well as erasing all the data in the phone memory.

1. Switch off the phone.
2. Press GREEN + RED + CAMERA + ON button simultaneously until you see the “Select Country” option.

Note:
The default password is 12345. You need to press and hold the key until the number appear and please do not confuse “revert to factory settings” with soft reset. “Revert to factory settings” can be achieved from Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone mgmt. > Factory settings or *#7870# code, and will only restore the phone to its factory setting without deleting data.

Greetings to all nokia 5800 users, I need help with my beloved phone. During the past few weeks, my phone has been during weird things, example, some of my pictures suddenly unable to view, some of my mp3 missing, some of my songs suddenly has been corrupted, i think this has to do with the memory card. So my question, is it ok if i format my memory card, but still keep all my files intact? If so can anyone guide me how to do it? If i want to format my memory card, what are the precautions i need to take?

Nope. Your files will be gone once you format the memory card.
You can copy it to you computer first, then format your memory card, then copy the files back to the memory card.

if i do that, what about the firmware? will it be gone as well?

firmware will be intact .. since its flashed into Z ROM drive

yes, dont do quick format, do a full format .. if possible keep ure SD card in top shape by running scandisk and defrag often ..

yes, widgets are web based .. its a compressed .html's .. try rename abcd.wgz to abcd.zip and extract it .. u will knw wats the contents !
