Reasons being that:
The elimination matchup style with group qualifiers would take more rounds (about 31 as apposed to 24)
The swiss style matchup provides ranking for all members of the competition
The results obtained from the matchup will be used in subsequent tournaments for better matchup pairings.
Finally, everyone will be able to participate without getting kicked lol.
For the Swiss style matchups, this is how it's going to work:
First as we don't have previous matchup data to work with, initial positions are randomized then vsed in positions of no.1 vs no.6, no.2 vs no.7, no.3 vs no.8...
Next, going by the results of the initial "warm up" round, we will take those with wins to randomly vs those with wins and those with no wins to vs those with no wins. This is repeated every single round (most no. of wins vs each other) with the rule that no 2 people shall see each other more than once throughout the tournament.
This is to ensure that the competition will be quite stiff throughout and you won't be fighting against people who would be considered imbalanced. (Except possibly the initial round in which actually helps since you will have a low chance of running into someone you don't want to later on)
SO DO NOT WORRY IF YOUR INITIAL MATCHUP LOOKS REALLY BAD BECAUSE IT WILL SORT ITSELF OUT LATER ON.
Rankings will be decided by the number of wins so everyone has a chance to win throughout
In the case of ties, we will break them based on total amount of opponent wins (this is assumed to calculate the toughness of opponents faced)
Here's the 2 matchup lists....(one with reis and Quaz & one without)
