I'm probably not going.

I heard the K1000 properly.

Preferred the HD600 by a wide wide margin. Moreover, now with a balanced HD600 it is so much better than the K1000.

The K1000 is good, but it is no pleasure to listen to.

the strongs point for k1000 is the mids and imagining stage
mostly it depends on the source and amp
B22 with it the soundstage very wide and but lacks the lush mids/smooth highs i was looking for
using Gryphon poweramp for speakers to drive it and the source was Ear Acute Tube CDP and BlueNote Koala CDP
mids was smooth and mindblowing and yet very liquidity full and did an AB with HD800 with it
HD800 have the depth of realism compare to K1000 which it seem lacking
but the impression of HD800 to me, it is still has headphone soundsignature but K1000 itself release virtually from headphones
more like speakers
btw u sold the k1000 to Steve from Texas? Dr Wood?
