QUOTE(alvinz @ Nov 17 2009, 11:57 AM)
if i am not wrong, changing that whole oil sump base cost a bomb ... normally wat ppl do is just change the drain screw ... change to a magnetic one would help ur engine to be cleaner in a long run ....
alvin: got magnetic type? my problem is not the screw wor, its the base which the screw is screwed onto (eh, am i confusing u?)
u using magnetic type ah? can explain how it functions? thanks notworthy.gif

Wanna ask...

Every morning when I start to drive and when I stepped on break pedal, I can hear a ZZzzz !! ZZZZZzz !! sound from the front tires...After a while no sound already..

Problems with brake pad?

I changed it 1 year ago and very seldom do hard breaking.
*
lemme guess, u are very gentle on the brakes when u hear that sound? its friction caused by water/mist/oxide between the pads and disc.
tomorrow morning, u try harder braking. usually no sound this way.

QUOTE(shinjite @ Nov 18 2009, 12:30 AM)
Actually better do straight balancing and aligment lo~~
If wanna budget, at least balancing
*
nod.gif agreed
else makan tayar oh...

QUOTE(hariz_ex5 @ Nov 18 2009, 12:45 AM)
what the effect i did not do balancing and alignment..
*
alignment usually wont be off unless your wheels originally already off.
balancing is a must coz it depends on the rims and tyres entirely.
if u dont do balancing, u risk having a bumpy ride and eneven thread wear.

eh izzit? coz last time the tyre shop told me my uneven thread wear due to balancing (my tyre one side heavier due to manufacturing).... kns... to fix it, he added weights to my tyre to balance that piece of tyre. also before doing balancing, my car bumpy at high speeds, got blob blob blob sound....

something puzzles me...
why is our wira weight so heavy?
it is same weight as the Perodua nautica for god's sake!
i thought our proton cars are well known as tin-milo (cheap material) so why still so heavy? the MMC EVO-III also around 1200kg, and our Wira around 1180kg (depend on engine cc).

QUOTE(Oly @ Nov 18 2009, 11:41 AM)
why?..urs pecah?..
*
not pecah (nasib baik) but the lubang for draining engine oil, the thread already rosak.
cannot screw tightly anymore. each time service car, they use vacuum to suck the sludge (which i thk is not clean)

Yes. Exactly...

Why the way before, there's no sound one..But now, starting to have sound. Quite annoying when slowing down over multiples bump at my condos...

Anyway, to get rid of it??
*
every morning also happens? if yes, really quite annoying hor.
changing brake pads should get rid of it.
i got this "brrrp" sound also when its cold in mornings, but mine is at the rear drum brake, left side.
so far i ignore only, coz it only happens on my first and 2nd braking, after which it goes away (maybe warmed up, dried up)

but i still prefer the non LED type. for me the LED type looks kind of weird.
*
hopefully the LED they used are the high-quality type,
else it will end up like the LED brake lights on wira spoilers doh.gif

if know the manufacturer, let them know, if they add another "line" to the LED brakes, it will look a lot nicer.
now, it looked like a square box when the LED are lit. i prefer 3 straight lines look nod.gif

I spend on new phone, hoping I didn't have to use the money for anything this month. But then, who knows my car got problem, so repair here and there have to loan from parents doh.gif

End of month salary payback, and send car to servicing.
*
hahaha THIS IS WHAT I FEAR MOST! coz sometimes, go window shopping, start to feel itchy.
then after a rough (note: ROUGH) estimate of monthly budget, decided to buy the item.
next step involves a lot of praying and fingers crossing - hoping nothing unexpected pops-up the remaining of the month.
coz usually after buying the item we want, left just enough money for basic expenses tongue.gif
hi-5 to afosz doh.gif

already said this month NO MONEY then yesterday night realize my front signal light (last time was right side, this time left side pulak) broken and hanging by the wire! luckily didnt fall off and dissappear! since the plastic part broken, there's no way to secure the signal back, so i did wat i did last time - i super-glued it to the side of the headlights. so far still OK. wth man... means gonna need replacement soon (maybe tis is my chance to change projector headlamp set? hohoho)

QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Nov 20 2009, 12:15 AM)
wow...still so active this thread smile.gif
I need to change my absorbers soon...maybe just front coz its making noise. I hear Brothers got a kind of sport suspension for 100+ each. Anyone know about this? Is it good?
*
DONT get your absorbers from Brothers. I mean, they are fine for other things like stereo, tint, stickers, etc. BUT absorbers and other more "critical" things, i'd rather go elsewhere. i think the "mechanics" from Brothers are not properly trained. later ur car absorber fell out while driving then u know sweat.gif

QUOTE(Killerz622 @ Nov 20 2009, 12:40 AM)
The middle one u saw is reflection only. The first time i also thought is another row of LED but actually its reflection of the 1 row led.
*
yup, what i see too. the middle is just a piece of reflector (but with 2 biji LED on each side) only.
i prefer all 3 rows are LEDs. the reflector can be positioned elsewhere.

normal or sport depends on budget. My front absorber is making noise so need to change liao.
do we need to change the spring too?

for front, suggest don't change too stiff absorbers, later bump and rattle on our BEAUTIFUL malaysian roads.

QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Nov 20 2009, 10:23 AM)
haha...that bad meh.
*

Yeah, already heard some horror stories about Brothers, enough to stop me from buying "important" things from them. But i still go there to buy smaller, insignificant stuffs. Click on link to see one example of horror stuff.

notice that car thief like to target MODIFIED local cars, especially.
it is thanks to our local crave for modified parts, i think.
