The last time i attend the yamaha guitar competition (a.k.a yamaha guitar festival) was year 2008. Normally they organize it in August or Sept yearly. But this year yamaha didn't organize any guitar competition. By the way, you only can use yamaha brand guitar to enter their competition.

You may check out Guitar Collection Classical Guitar Competition. This year Guitar Collection successfully organized their 1st classical guitar competition in June. Not sure next year still got or not.

Wow I've checked a few links and you are all so skillful! (Jealous) hahaha.
I picked up guitar by learning classical first biggrin.gif
it was awesome and it never got boring! but i only got to Yamaha grade 7 book (i think) and then I stopped going to classes because of PMR at that time.

Anyway, I was HORRIBLE at sightreading! I always end up playing few bars at a time then memorise, in the end don't even have to look at the book. But I feel that's sort of like cheating...anyone have the same problem with sight-reading?? haih..
