Guys,

Noob question here.
Whats the difference for Hyper 212 Plus and Hyper 212?
I cant really see any comparison review in web.
Suppose Hyper 212 Plus is newer product should be more expensive right?
I see its lot cheaper than Hyper 212. Is the cooling performance wise Hyper 212 better?
Appreciate feedbacks.

Newer product doesn't mean to be more expensive. Hyper 212 came with nice looking LED fan from CM while 212+ does not.

212+ better than 212...
mainly coz of the HDT technology and the blademaster fan delivers 6cfm more air flow compare to the blue led fan

I would take the coolermaster....cheaper and it has 4 pipes compared to 3 on the xigmatek RS....I was once a user of the RS....The performance is alright if and only if u have a good thermalpaste....The stock cream they give u....forget about it.

Yea, due to 4 copper heat-pipes..

So, conclusion, Low Budget + High Performance CPU Cooler = CM Hyper 212+ = RM109 only..

rockrock selling RM90...LOL!

Thinking wts my Red Scorpion to get this heat sink... laugh.gif

QUOTE
Pros:

- Price
- Excellent Cooling Performance
- Dual fan capable out of the box
- Very powerful stock fan
- Backplate comes standard
- Improved installation process (compared to other CM coolers)

Cons:

- Heatpipes are the smaller style
- Relies on a 2000RPM fan for optimal performance
- Questions over Fan specs
- Single pressure point mount does allow twisting to happen
- "Only" second best at high loads

Hyper 212+ really does perform well.
The only drawback of this heatsink is that it's uglier compared to it's predecessor.

well..im satisfied with the 212+ performance but its bend my MSI K9N SLI platinum mobo due to the all in one mountintg backplate bracket which cause my mobo to bend if i intend to mount 4 screw all across the mobo to the casing.

AMD X2 5200+ 2.6ghz >Oced to 3ghz 1.3v
Idle : 27 - 30 C

red scorpion has faster CFM for the fan? so will it perform better than 212 plus?

WTA, how to fix this heat sink correctly ?

I did was :

1) Apply thermal paste
2) Place the X-Thingy on the heatsink. ( Donno need to screw anything ? )
3) Put the Bracket behind the MB.
4) Fix the Nut and bolt on the MB
5) Adjust the X-Thingy untill can fit into the nuts.
6) Screw the X-Thingy untill thing into the nuts.

Can't if your casing has transparent side panel edition one, for double check again try find the HS height and roughly measure on your pc.

Fix the backplate on the motherboard before screwing the heatsink on.

Hi all, this is a very nice thread for me to gather some info about the product feedback.

Definitely will buy it later, but will it fits on my CM Elite 331

And, is there any benefit to install 2 fans?

Have a Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition with Asus M4A77TD PRO motherboard in a Cooler Master Elite Series case. Stock heat sink fan is terribly noisy and I'm thinking of replacing it with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus for lower temps + less noise. I'm worried about the contact surface not being smooth though. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Also, do I need additional products like thermal paste, etc.?

Just bought mine today, performance ain't really great.

Intel stock HSF, Tuniq TX-2
66'C Load

CM Hyper 212+, OCZ Freeze, 2 fans(intake 1.5k RPM, exhaust 2k RPM)
63'C Load

Should I remount the Hyper 212+ with TX-2?

u too stingy lah....

damm my Q9550 doesnt want to go below 75'c even with the hyper212+ with CM Nano fusion slapped on it
it went down to 73'c when i was using my heavily modified liquid cooler, but i dont have space in my case to mount it...

i wonder how hot is the q9550 on stock cooler...

Alright, remounted with Tuniq TX-2. Result still not very good.

61'C Load, just 2 degree lower than my previous setup. My previous setup was because TIM applied was not enough, I made sure its enough this time. Maybe too much doh.gif

Hmmm... the reviews seems to differ with what our fellow forumers are experiencing.

I have a question about the CM212+. I'm planning to overclock my E8400 to 4Ghz. Will the CM212+ let me do that? I'm talking about at least 1 hour of Prime95 with 1.32vcore or more.

Hyper 212 or Hyper 212+?
I want to replace my stock CPU cooler.

What is the price difference between the two?
Which looks better?

Will it fit my CM Elite 310?

Look at my current setup at my signature now, I looped 20x Very High using IBT. Highest core temp reached is 71'C in aircond room, I'd say thats pretty decent performance for a ±RM95 heatsink. With similar settings, max core temp went 89'C with the Intel stock HSF.

If I'm not mistaken, Hyper 212 is discontinued and replaced with Hyper 212+, the Hyper 212+ looks better to me and certainly better performance, price wise? Cheaper than the original Hyper 212. And finally, yeah it can fit your CM Elite 310.

212 is no more available...if got, those shops have old stock...212 looks like "megahalem"...split in between...

212+ looks like any other aftermarket heatsink(red scorpion, etc etc)

just installed a 212+ with dual fans.

temps seem ok, similar to my CCF(removed CCF due to dented base...gonna lap/repair it later).

Prior to purchasing the 212+, I was curious abt the 212+ performance, and asked afew users for comments...ie Silverfire

after running for afew days, I think the 212+ works best with dual fans, to be able to nearly match my CCF performance...very good budget for a versatile heatsink...

hmm.gif Plus and non plus version are both very different sinks as the plus version comes with HDT tech while the latter doesn't. The plus version is obviously much better than its predecessor.
