Does anyone have problem with RHB Cash Connect Debit Card in Metrojaya/Jusco? I had experienced where Jusco didn't accept the card as the transaction will be very hard to go through, same case with Metrojaya.
*
some moment/ 'few' post ago, already discussed regarding this, the Jusco is mainly accept debit card from maybank, some forumers encountered problem like jusco not accept debit card others than maybank.

Can we use Debit card for pumping petrol?
*
yes. but recommand go inside to counter to pay , so that can prevent 'on-hold', if swipe at terminal, it will hold some amount.

QUOTE(sam325 @ Aug 12 2010, 07:26 PM)
so it is free....?

my confusion not really settled yet

so what they mean exactly by "waived"

so why in day2day they said withdrawal from PB ATM is free and in PBVE they said withdrawal from PB ATM is waived. what is the different.
*
it is free no charge if withdrawl at PB ATM only.

QUOTE(ajau @ Aug 14 2010, 10:51 PM)
Yes. But they will deduct RM300 from your account first, regardless how many petrol you fill in your tank (definitely the value must be less than RM300). The balance of you money will go to your account back within 3 days.
*
not deduct, but on-hold.
the period of on-hold will release/back depends on bank, 3 - 7 days.

It need RM280 in account before fill petrol

all debit card will be 'on hold' around 200 or more if we use at fuel terminal.

QUOTE(MNet @ Sep 16 2010, 05:31 PM)
not dangerous if swap inside the counter?
*
it is the same when u use yo debit card at shopping center pay at counter, if swap at counter is considered dangerous, then all credit / charge/ debit cards considered as dangerous too if pay at any counter.

QUOTE(squall0833 @ Oct 25 2010, 04:59 PM)
got question

I got a EON Bank debit mastercard
I've use it without any problems in past year, since the first blocking, I called them, unblocked, and make a transaction

then again, they block it,

I called them and ask in detail, the staff told me that I've to call them for confirmation before I can use the card to make any internet transaction, such as Steam or Paypal,

Why before I could use them without any problems, now it limits my card??

I also asked for removing the limitation, but I couldn't, I must set a number of times to be used "in the day I called them" to unblock it,

which means, if i say 5 times, and actually i only use 2-3 times in that day, after that, I can't not use the card anymore, Have to call them back for another request

if i must have a limitation, at least set number of times or amount i can use for a month or longer period, but it has to be the day i make the request
is that true? other bank debit card got same case???

this is annoying, I've to spend my phone call fees to call them -.-
*
I am curious whether this also applied to credit card?

You can consider THIS. This VISA debit card has better acceptance than VISA Electron and you also do not have to keep RM25 deposit inside the account the entire time. Besides, you also do not have to worry about the annual fee as this PBB-ESSO VISA debit card is totally free.
*
PB-product disclosure sheet based on this , this card still need to maintain RM25.

debit card - normally linked to saving account with ATM function.
However,
some debit card standalone and not linked to saving account such as public bank visa electron. But they didnt call it prepaid card, for them it is debit card. standalone debit card has card account, not saving account.

prepaid card, we need to fund in before can use. prepaid card also using card account?

here, i dont know whether prepaid card & standalone debit card are same?
is just name different? anyone know?

prepaid card=issue by non bank tht cooperate wif bank

not really,
CIMb e.matercard prepaid card issued by bank,
Ambank NEXG prepaid card issued by bank,
eonbank few prepaid co-branded card issued by bank, not the co-branded company,
alliance unique prepaid card issued by bank.

and .. yes , tunemoney prepaid card, not issued by bank.

Im planning getting those airline ticket online here in Malaysia, i read about the debit card petrol pump issue, will i face the same thing too?
*
debit card at fuel station:

if u swipe at terminal, it will hold your Rm200.

if u go to counter, tell people there an amount before pump, it will NOT hold yo Rm200, u just pay exact value u told them.

QUOTE(he-sham @ Dec 1 2010, 11:19 AM)
how to make formal complain when our card (or their merchant terminal) had problem while in the transaction..

i had two bad experiences last weekend..

1st case 1710, 28Nov
purposely having dinner @ KFC & ordered over rm30 to enable me 1 transaction of debit mastercard promotion of free night stay in genting.

before that i ensure there's mastercard logo accepted @ the KFC's door & there's no notice that they couldnt accept card.

the moment i handed them my card (alliance bank debit mastercard), they gelabah already said card cannot laa.. i said try first... then the cashier tried...& it certainly not working.... i gave my Citibank Visa Debit ATM.... also cannot... then i used cash to settle it... missed opportunity there... if i know i would rather eat at mamak then...

i keep the receipt & requested their manager a Feedback form... now i want to forward the complain to mastercard & visa...

2nd case 1641, 29Nov
this time @ mydin jln masjid india k.lumpur, I purchased groceries total of RM43... i handed my alliance bank debit mastercard... the cashier proceeded with payment, but the merchant terminal keep give msg "Processing Card"... After few tries also still processing card...again i gave my Citibank Visa Debit ATM... still the same thing happened...  rclxub.gif

end up paid using cash again... missed opportunity again... Mastercard & Visa promotions & (rebates/points)...

i want to ask Mastercard/Visa how reliable their debit card are? its not card or chip issue since in between that two events I successfully swiped @ petrol station, SOGO & hotel & my funds more than enough even with pre-authorized been applied to my card... today also i swiped successfully....
so 3 parties i want to address the complain should be:
1) merchants (KFC, MYDIN)
2) banks
3) Visa/Mastercard

when transaction didnt go through & took long time, i sometime felt embarrassed... did u all feel the same ?? sure peoples queuing up behind us said "why dont use cash...faster...dont have money kaa ??"
*
seems like that is merchant problem.
As KFC at my area, has paypass features, but when customer want to tap thier card, the KFC person said NO, this machine is not functioning.

I think only debit cards from certain banks come with such feature. For instance, Hong Leong Bank VISA debit card.
She has a strong case to be worried. This is because many banks have started to offer a debit card that is linked to your savings or current account instead of a regular ATM card.
*
how bout cherry visa & public debit card? also been protected?

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Dec 26 2010, 06:09 PM)
You should only either go for Maybank or Public Bank. I personally would recommend Public Bank ESSO/Mobil VISA debit card because :
- it doesn't have any annual fee
- free cash withdrawals at any Public Bank ATM
- confirmed can be verified at Paypal
- only 12-year-old to qualify
- a monthly statement for you to keep track of your spending
- 0.5% cash back on all purchases and 1% cash back when you pump petrol at ESSO/Mobil (you probably won't need this but you can still apply for this card)

*
not bad just the design too urgly, but who care.

Hi,

I have a question. I'm going to Italy next month and I do not wish to bring too many cash along. The problem is that I don't have any credit card. My gf has applied for maybank visa debit. I wonder if I can borrow her card while I'm traveling in Italy for visa payment or ATM withdrawal? Is there any procedure I need to follow?

Thanks!
*
why not go to bank open an account and get your own debit card?
if you use yo fren card, let say something bad happens, it would be troublesome.

it is almost same as PB esso debit, but it tends to collect points,
for PB esson debit, it has
