have read many, even found one boot up bout 15 sec. in i7 system spec., but those who boot up in lower sec. actually windows 7 not being tempered with other 3rs party software install on it. Just the default plain win. 7.

I took a look at the codes and what it does is write a timestamp first then issue a shutdown command. That means if you have a lot of stuffs to shutdown, your overall timing would be longer biggrin.gif Also, it depends your board/BIOS bootup because that will take some time too.

Is it save to turn off Igfxtray and HKCMD at startup? Before this my startup is 138 sec and when i turn off this two intel program it reduce to 92 sec. Any side effect? hmm.gif

Nvmind, found the answer here tongue.gif

QUOTE
hkcmd -Intel, leave enabled if you use hotkeys like ctrl+alt+up/down/left/right. Safe to disable
igfxpers, igfxtray : Intel, used for application graphic preferences and the tray icon. Safe to disable

Shaved on 1 second from my previous reboot time by changing my HDD driver back to Microsoft's one because Intel's one sucks if you're not using raid. Switched the controller from IRRT to AHCI. Removed unnecessary startup items. Overall my computer runs much faster especially accessing folders and starting programs. Now that I'm running OSX as well, I can say Windows 7 dominates.

This is reboot la. Startup 15 sec can la. Those videos you see on you tube use 2 SSD in RAID 0. Mine's only single.

30 second reboot is really possible, consistently too. Here's a video that shows the wonders of SSDs.

Spec on my sig, HDD is dual Western Digital Cavair Black 320GB 16mb cache on RAID0, forget the RAID0 stripe size already, prolly the the largest sweat.gif
IIRC stripe size might affect the RAID speed too.

Btw, Hot reboot is faster than cold boot(aka from power down the PC and restart.) IIRC.
and somemore i didnt defrag my pc for years already brows.gif
