 Spec on my sig, HDD is dual Western Digital Cavair Black 320GB 16mb cache on RAID0, forget the RAID0 stripe size already, prolly the the largest  IIRC stripe size might affect the RAID speed too. Btw, Hot reboot is faster than cold boot(aka from power down the PC and restart.)
