Let me list it out for u on the upgrade path..


Thunder Hammer's Path: Bone Club -> Cyclo-Hammer -> Atlas Hammer -> Khezu Horn -> Khezu Horn + -> Purse Bop -> Purse Bop + -> Khezu Thunder

Juggernaut Hammer's Path: War Hammer -> War Hammer+ -> War Mace -> Iron Striker -> Iron Striker+ -> Anvil Hammer -> Onslaught Hammer -> Blacksmith -> Juggernaut

Chaotic Order Hammer's Path: Bone Club -> Cyclo-Hammer -> Atlas Hammer -> Kut-Ku Jaw -> Kut-ku Pick -> Hard Bone Hammer -> Hard Bone Hammer + -> Diablos Hammer -> Diablos Chaos Broker -> Chaotic Order


It's true that Hammer deals a whole lot of damage, but it takes lots of patience and u really need to find opening to hit. As hammer is a slow weapon, u need to time urself correctly/properly to prevent getting hits since you can't block. Rolling and timing is the key to using hammer.. Triple pounds although it's damaging, hardly u will get the chance to do a full pound on bosses (if traps then diff story), so probably u need to learn up charge pound. A lot of ppl will suggest using Mega Juice for hammer (since ur stamina is drained when u charge up ur hammer) but I would recommend playing without relying on Juices so u will know when to charge, when to release.. A good practice on timing..

Don't use bow as ur first choice of weapon. Get urself a melee in order to support your bow upgrades. U can only see the strength in bows after a few upgrades, early stage bows = CRAP.

Try any melee weapon that you are comfy with and start killing like mad! But experiment different different weapon for diff boss and u will realize some bosses are easier using certain weapons..

Charge pound without moving will give u a super heavy pound to the ground <- this is the one i'm talking about.

The spinning attack is not entirely useless, it has it's use on certain time (it won't bounce on hard monsters) and finishing it with a golfswing is pretty damaging as well.

Shen gao ren? Use GS or hammer and charge pound him all the way. Yes quake resist is somewhat a must, do play bombs if u find it hard to kill him. Bomb him when he falls down (put bomb at his face).

Added on December 23, 2009, 7:57 pmHaha.. For hammer VS crabs, I usually don't bother aiming anything. I just pound my way through until he falls. Hitting crabs on the sit he will fall sideways which will earn u some free hits. Pounding his shells will break it for extra items..

Also to note, shocktraps VS crabs has some additional use to it for hammer users. Did you know that by putting shocktraps on Crabs, u can easily break its claw? One trap = 1 claw will surely break.. I tested this myself so i'm pretty sure... But remember that once both claws broken, crabs goes into turbo/gila/nutcase/bodoh/pikachu mode.........

Currently who is still active playing MHU? Probably we can do a CNY + MHU gathering?.. we cook lots and lots of cenataur to eat...

U can either do it at the lady, or go into the gathering hall n speak to the girls standing there. The nearest girl to the entrance is the first girl u can talk to and as you progress and get higher ranks, u will unlock the girl next to it so u wil have access to higher rank bosses...

Haha.. tat's normal., Do the elder lady quest first, don't do the gathering hall since it's more challenging.. Buy the battle armour from the cats or do gathering quest to start off and always go to the farm.. A good thing to do is to read up this thread especially the first page.. there's tons of info there..

It's the same. It's just different region, take note u can't play with ppl using different version (Unless u make use of a certain hack), so it's better that u stick to US (since most players here uses US).

If like that you are better off completing the elder quest first and try to make better armours from there since the bosses there are much easier to kill and you can get urself a decent armour from the kills.. Once you are "satisfied" with ur armour, then only play guild hall.. Unless u have frens..

U might wanna be careful with what Exsea is telling u... he tends to fool around a lot...

If Exsea is part of it, it'll be april fool happening everyday for every Monster Hunter fan already...

Anyways, if MHP3 is out, let's get another round of gathering going..

get ESP skill and bomb him.. There's no way to get him off that mode.

Or you can bow him to death with Pierce..

Hammer is also a good choice of weapon

If u insist on using DS, i'd suggest playing bombs to increase ur damage dealt to tat snow monkey bone head...

And yes, Hit and run tactics works very well with SnS, try searching in Youtube and u can see how they play. U'd be surprised by looking at how a person used Poison SnS rape the crap out of Rajang (also monkey family...lol) just by doing hit and runs..
