Using hammer against rajang is quite easy. Just stay on his side can already n use charge pound on him. U need to do lots of predictions but he'll go down in no time..

Sharpness plays an important role in this game.. Not just because your weapon will bounce or not.. Damage are affected as well..

pretty straight forward and you can find everything there.. read it up! it'll make the game much more easier..

Either u try to do more on training school, or best is to pick a weapon and focus on that weapon so u can master it before moving to other weapons. Making multiple weapons will need lots of money n resources so it's not really recommended. Good starter weapon -> Long Sword (Or anything you like... )

Item list? Monster Carve Guide <--

Bonus to set = what each part of the armour gives on skills. For example, the head might give u certain skills.

Let's say ABC Hunter Set.

Head gives u Attack + 2
Body gives u Attack +3
Gauntlet Gives u Attack +2
Waist Gives u Attack +2
Legging gives u Attack +1

so, u get Attack +10 all together, thus unlocking the skill *Attack Up Small*

most of the skills need 10 points to unlock the skill, some has 15 or 20, the list is on

Haha.. Don't worry, i have nothing against you.

You carve the monster when you kill them, they don't drop things for u (other than shiny)

Just buy the Hunter set, and try to uprank yourself and go for YianKutKu armour or better still, go for Cenataur/Tigrex (up to you). Don't be bothered with those low rank quest. You will waste too much time there..

U know that u need to play guild quest to uprank right? Elder/Neco quest won't uprank u..

Go to the merchant that sells armours (The cat), look for Hunter Armour set or Battle set or something i can't really remember that well.. It gives u some good skills to start with. And upgrade your armour if u feel the def is too low.. Like what others said, Def is not tat important, the skill is..

Yo! I'm back.. Finally haha.. I can make a gathering next weekend I suppose. Let me see how it goes..

Get use to capture monsters so you can save some space on carving. Common items in your inventory:

1. Potion
2. Honey
3. Mega Potion
4. Steak (rare, welldone, gourmet up to you)
5. Max potion (if you are fighting mobs that are wayyyyy too strong for u)
6. Paintball
7. Flashbombs
8. Sonic Bombs (depending on who you are fighting)
9. Genprey Fangs
10. Trap tool
11. Shock Trap
12. Trans bomb
13. Demon Drug
14. Whetstone
15. Farcaster (optional)
16.................. . Combine items like flash bugs, bomb material, scatterfish, bombs, herbs, blue mushroom, etc etc

With item 1-14, it should last you through most battles already.. leaving you a few free slots for carving..

Added on December 6, 2009, 12:27 amJust curious, why u need to whim skill? The skills are dependent on the types of cats you have and on the food you eat to activate them.

If you really intend to mine or gather herbs etc, get gathering/fishing/mining armours and go into gathering quest. Try not to do it during major battles. It's just a waste of slots... Also, you can get all the things needed from mining and gathering from your farm too..

Let's say your first cat has crazy lucky cat skill, eating food given from that cat will give u a chance to unlock the special cat skills everytime u eat things cooked by that cat.. Those cats might poison you at times... beware....!!!!

Not every boss also bombs will work well on them. Flashing blagonga, rajang, nargacuga etc will be the last thing you hope u did.. They'll go insane n jump around like a retard n u can't even predict their movements anymore, thus increasing the chance of getting hit for no reason.. Most of the time I will flash them when I wanna heal up or in dangerous spot..

Flash is useful for bosses like rathalos, rathian, diablos, akantor, ukanlos.. They'll be dumb (spin around or hitting air)

Barrier bombs? I have no idea wat is that lol..

no wonder i never heard of that bomb.. lolz..

Usually bombs are used when u are using bow or using sleep weapons. Combining ur bombs to the maximum (largest) bomb can do crazy amount of damage if u use it correctly. Try putting a boss to sleep, then put 2 large barrel bomb + n use 1 small barrel bomb to trigger it will do a massive amount of damage (gosu wake up call lol). But it purely depends on your playstyle actually. Try completing the training school, they will somewhat guide u through how to make use of the items in the game (more like force u to use the items since it's so limited..)

Like Kaeza suggested, use flash bombs if u are using bow/bowguns. Bring in combine items (5 flash bombs, plus materials to combine should give u a total of 15 flash bombs) and abuse traps (both shock trap and pitfall) on him. On certain maps, he will fall into pitfall trap and that should earn u quite a bit of time to hit him like mad.. GS is the perfect weapon against him.. haha.. Hammer is kinda slow so tend to get hit at times..

Yo! Erm i'm not so sure yet. Can't really plan now since kinda tied up with work stuff. I'll drop u guys a message here few days earlier if i can make the gathering..

The armour skill list in minegarde.com explains what each skill does, take some time to read it.

If using hammer, abuse all ur traps on the first rajang and u should be able to take him down in the 10 minutes mark (provided u are using good gears) then slowly play hit n run with the second rajang (stay on his side) and he'll go down pretty soon.

Yeap. Bring it along in ur inventory. Also later on u can combine with lao shan's parts (i forgot what) to make it even better..
