Actually you can solo. I managed to solo til HR 9 so far after hard works, advise and suggestion from players here and youtube (spend a lot hours watching). Youtube really helped a lot bro~

Err is this your first time fighting Shen Gao Ren?
You should kill this guy lol but you can only do that at map 5. map 1 just for range or look and here we goes map 2~ map 4 (time to deal a lot damage). If you're melee user better aim for the body (credit goes to Mr. X again hehe) and then if Shen Gaoren up his body up away just aim 1 leg only til red. Use Fire Element weapon for the best result.

p/s: if you're cunning hunter like me, Large Bomb+ will be your best friend
well you can have fun with bouce bomb if you like too..

GL = Cool, I can easily force Wyvern to kiss the floor while he tries to fly with Shell Shot. It's really pawned!!!

Well GS is awesome the Charge lvl3 and Cut-Tail-Weapon hehe. Every weapon got it's own unique but GL or Lance more great in some way (I mean it's really safer weapon for Grank, it's defense awesome and no need to evade much and I love to do backstab evade when Khezu want to Lightning Blast, thanks to youtube wahaha)

Oo I think Area 5 then, Shen Gao Ren, that's the only map you can kill either Shen Gaoren Or LSL. Do like what X told you it should be okay and don't forget to use Wyvern Ramp (or whatever it is... I don't know the name wahahah) and Balista (take balista ammo from the blue box and reload it by simply choose the ammo and press [ ] )

Aim 1 leg is enough and easy to kill Shen Gaoren

I rarely use DS because this weapon no need tactic much >_<

You need to hit it as many times as you can. Chances to Victory = More than 10 times he's flinched or tripped over. So try hard ok or watch youtube for more guide.
