What I incline was, your suggestion about Mara include AutoCad software or such in a laptop is nonsense.. Its simply either the report is false, or if it indeed happen, its totally Mara's fault, that's it.. And if so happen Mara did include AutoCad or any professional program in only two laptops, it sounds very wrong..

And if so happen Mara did include AutoCad or any professional program in only two laptops, it sounds very wrong.. - How do you justify installing AutoCad or any professional program in only two laptops is sounding very wrong?? I'm getting more and more baffled with your comments as if you're trying to sound more and more....... Professional software doesn't comes cheap and only those who needs it can justify the purchases of it. In any case, MARA might not even know what AutoCad is in given the mentality that "they've portrait" in such purchase!

Hahaha!!

Gosh, you're making me sounding like I'm defending MARA for making such decision but please understand that I condemn corruption and corrupt practices very much. I'm just trying to make some sense in how such an amount for such asset acquisition can passed the account/finance side for approval in the first place. I'm more incline to discuss the technicality of the purchase than the morality of it. And yes, it sounded very suspicious but we could be really barking up the wrong tree mate!

I won't argue with you whose wrong or right.. Just some food for thought..

Even those who handles the purchase is dumb enough to know the exact price of proffesional program, doesn't the responsible person will question such huge amount or approve it blindly? There's IT department in MARA and eventhough they aren't responsible for the purchase, at very least Mara can ask their technical point of view..

And, to put it, have you ever heard of Volume Licensing?

There's no justification at all to buy professional program and put it into ONLY TWO LAPTOPS (unless for personal purpose).. So.. You can do some critical thinking on your own..

I'm done arguing.. Also, I don't say that you defending MARA, I don't even know you.. gosh..

Another one plucking statements out of thin air. I wonder if you've bought any professional software in the first place or knew how to define software as in for professional use.

Just some simple eg. MS-SQL database with X-no. of users can costs more than those two notebooks combined. Google it up and you will know how much! And since you're at it, please look out for CADCAM/AUTOCAD software prices too, and not forgotten Desktop Publishing Software/Graphical Software as well, etc. etc. etc.

Like I says in my comment earlier, there might not be even a single software installed in the laptops in the first place. Just simply jacking up the prices by plucking the figures out of thin air!!!

Please don't get mad at me for continuing questioning your point of views but it is somewhat educational in ways that I have not thought of or some facts that I didn't know at all. Again quoting you on Volume Licensing and justification on buying professional program to put into ONLY TWO Laptops, what if the situation arises only for the setting up of ONLY TWO such Laptops, say for 2 new personnels who just joined them and who has the needs for them? Volume Licensing does it applies to 2 licenses (like I say, I really don't know how many to justify Volume Puchases) or will it be better off buying 2 separate Single licenses because the situation only calls for the setting up of ONLY TWO such Laptops or you will do it otherwise by buying Volume Licensing (ie. for 5 users or more) even if the needs is only for TWO?? (maybe it is considered cheaper by buying volume for future needs but then again will it be obsolete if kept too long, and again the end-price might ballooned up 2 or 3 or 4 times more when we buy and store)

As you can see, I have applied critical thought on this but still lacking the actual facts there are. If you do have a copy of the BQ for the requisition and it is non-OSA, could you please post it up here to further justifying your comments or our disagreements. Maybe you could well help lightened the work of our MACC by supplying all the questionable doubts there are. The only real fact here is that I don't know how or what has been bundle in the invoice of that purchase in order for it to make it thru requisition in the first place. Hope there's no heart feeling, I'm just playing "devil advocate"!!

if it is a one of thing perhaps id say you have a point, but then again such cases are not rare and far between. you might be tad naive to justify it when it is public knowledge that such events do happen.

its really simple, ask any business man who deals with the government and he would tell you the same story.

sickeningly inflated prices for something thats normal
