owh I see... but still the source of force still come from same place.  tyre > fork > head tube . I dont think head tube will receive additional force bcoz of additional travel.

maybe rear triangle of frame will crack first hmm.gif ...

im not being stubborn just a healthy discussion laugh.gif

Nvm , crack liao . Just change.

I am really not good at all these engineering term.
Film? He! He! He!
For xandman...
If you put DH fork on your XC bike, ur bike will still move and still be able to bring you from point A to B.

But if you say jump from top of the hill, whether fork A or fork B, ur XC frame will still give way.
And this is for xandman...
Some like black... some like red... how about white? This is being sold in Malaysia...

Sawaddeekap (Hello) from Thailand, thanks for your reply! You truly are the mechanic of this thread!
Btw, I saw a group of cyclist riding Canondales (Lefty) and Specialized!!! They were like 20 of them (all around 40s)...
When I asked about their bikes, they don't speak English (sweat.gif) but I noticed they're all on XTR groupsets!!! drool.gif

Not they don't speak english, is they hate you.

to most other ppl, to be able to ride faster with more confidence, tackle obstacles that u previously had to dismount and push the bike through, is what brings most satisfaction. to know your ride and handling skills, and not take unnecessary risks. maybe u havent had the satisfaction of going through this, so u overcompensate by changing parts in the belief that it would make you a better rider? sure, changing bikes makes a difference, but improving on the rider's abilities come first.

besides, ask any ''proper" cyclist, they would say ride first, improve skills/stamina/strength (depending on which route ur going, DH/AM/Trail/XC), then find parts that u know would help u go faster at whichever route ur going.

i've been riding a lerun for half a year, joined many groups, and most of the riders with much more expensive bikes provided advice and tips on what to get for wherever i was riding, and they also respected me for riding what i had and not complaining.

in the end, with the bike spending more time at the bikeshop than under ur ass might make u a faster rider, but not necessarily a better rider. smile.gif

but if u wanted to really lose weight, u need to do xc or road. more aerobic exercise compared to AM/DH. also improve fitness. become like hamster metabolism rate laugh.gif

another thing, if join roadie group, confirm can lose weight. cos they dont wait for u. social weekend rides with lots of stopping isnt exactly the fastest way to lose weight. smile.gif

Good one. It's like how many stops you need to climb steroid, and it's getting lesser.

yeah. i remember carrying my lerun on my shoulder to the top of steroid. fork coil was stiff as hell, even pushing up also made my arms tired. laugh.gif a few changes later and can finally do steroid without stopping. and helipad also maybe can do non stop if it werent for the fallen log in the middle of the trail. laugh.gif

we are waiting for ur new wheelset brows.gif or u buying hubs and spokes, keeping old rims?
@ kuzgo: u selling off ur merida AM? changing bikes ah?
*
Maybe just the hub only. Trying to minimize cost.

Hi. Anyone going into Kiara trails this Sat ? I am a newbie. Interested to join a group if possible ... Thanks.

One more thing need your advice regarding gear shift, I have a 9 speed bike. When using the smallest cog at the front and the smallest at the back, the chain makes noise and not very smooth and hits the front derailer. Same goes if I use the largest front and largest back ...

Is it true that we should use the middle front gear the most and try to use the middle ranges of the back rather than the extremes ...

Appreciate your advice.

Cheers

Sunday biggrin.gif . Seldom see riders ride with largest front and smallest(largest) rear. .

QUOTE(mousepad87 @ Dec 8 2009, 11:24 PM)
before this I use Maxxis Larson. Perform well on road. and good in Frim. I give 4.5 out of 5!. although it slippery compare to real XC tire, but it is still acceptable and it have very low resistance ..surely it increased  distance I ride rclxms.gif . if I need to change my tire. I will get one with similar with Larson tread  smile.gif
*
Larsen thread is nice at frim but not kiara. esp wet.
