Im planning to get mitsubishi triton ( brand new ) next 2 month...feb2010..may be the 2.5 diesel turbo already enough..is it good ? Im using it as my main transport and also for my biz'..
*
2.5 Diesel Turbo... the power isn't smooth & powerful like the 3.2..

Try consider the Isuzu Dmax 3.0 ITEQ, i currently owned one.. it's a 3.0 super commonrail turbodiesel 4x2 version. The power is smooth and more than enough, not to mention less turbo lag compared to lower CC model (2.5ltr).
Giving good FC compared to other brand (Triton, Navara, Hilux, Ranger etc).

But if you're looking for more power, go for Navara, it's a mothertrucker with 176PS and 406nm of torque (which is equal to a BMW M3)..

I wouldn't recommend you to get a Hilux, as it's underpowered & quite high FC like there's no tomorrow biggrin.gif laugh.gif

My suggestion : DMAX > Navara > Triton

My no-no list : Hilux

Powerful with good FC : DMAX

Powerful which will swallow most of the SUV / Truck on highway : Navara

Powerful with comfortness : Triton

Underpower, high FC with nono comfortness : Hilux

The FC of Hyundai Coupe is real real bad.. Full tank gives around less than 300km i would say.

Why would you want to get a FF sports coupe, with underpowered + high FC engine? The handling is not that good tho.. doh.gif

1) brand- nissan/mazda
2) budget- under RM200k
3) type- sport car of 2 seaters
4) milleage- under 30k km

i have considered to get a mazda, but mazda rx7 comes with low horse power. Currently, my main selection is nissan 350z for 190k after supercharged in kuching and to be used in sibu. but the roads in sibu is extremely bumpy, i am scared of the body kits will be damaged by the roads.
Any suggestions?
*
want power? go for BNR34.. Lots of mod available, it's an inline straight 6. brows.gif
No point doing supercharge/turbocharge on 350z, best to keep it as NA if you don't want any trouble..
RX7 comes with low horse power?? You must be know nothing about the Rotaries... With a simply mod, the RX7 can make massive of horse already doh.gif

Plenty of choices lorrr with that much of $$

MR2.. yum yum.. u've come to the right place and asked at the right guy.. hahaha

MR2, no need 60k so much, but depends on the modification done on that MR2 lor... 60k u can get a nicely mod and widebody-kitted MR2 already..

for around RM45k+-, you can get a 1996 model +... Personally i will only go for the Turbo version (3S-GTE), no NA for me.. laugh.gif

Maintenance wise for MR2 is easy, there's few reputable workshop which is famous for they reputation on MR2. brows.gif

Hi.. the loan given by bank is actually depends on your document, statement, income.. We can't estimate the max loan by ourself, it also depends on the price of the cars.

Hope to get know what u guy think... thanks

If u want a brand new car & peace of mind, go for the new Saga..

But if you don't want a national car & u're more looking on better fuel consumption, go for the Honda City IDSi, but bear in mind that might be gearbox problem occurs in SOME older gen City. (Make sure everything is okay and it would be a good buy)

I don't think there's a SGTi comes with 6 speed tranny, unless there's transplant job done before.
It's hard to source a SGTi with that amount of money, perhaps, you should add up your budget..

Loans for a used/second hand car are usually higher than purchasing a new cars.

Loans can be arrange by dealer if u're purchase from a car dealer. wink.gif

how's new honda city FC?

its an i-VTEC right? is it a cross breed of iDSi + VTEC? so less FC on low rev and max performance when VTEC kicks in?

interest rate for new city and how much is it now?
*
Nope.. It's not IDSI + VTEC.. It's more like intelligent VTEC, thus giving low FC (low rev) when u're not engaging the VTEC mode.

The i stands for intelligent : i-VTEC is intelligent-VTEC. Honda introduced many new innovations in i-VTEC, but the most significant one is the addition of a variable valve opening overlap mechanism to the VTEC system. Named VTC for Variable Timing Control, the current (initial) implementation is on the intake camshaft and allows the valve opening overlap between the intake and exhaust valves to be continously varied during engine operation. This allows for a further refinement to the power delivery characteristics of VTEC, permitting fine-tuning of the mid-band power delivery of the engine.

hi, planning to buy saga blm as my first car, but heard many bad comments about it(and other proton car as well). just want to know how bad is the saga blm XD, can any one tell?

shud i buy cheaper blm and save some money for other stuff? or shud i buy a more expensive myvi with less problem?

Thanks
*
Proton, famous with their lousy Quality Control. Not all Saga is bad in quality, some said buying proton is like buying lottery, if you're lucky enough you'll get a less problematic car from them. << laugh.gif

So far i only heard about the bad FC on Saga BLM with Automatic transmission, some claim the Manual transmission is giving good FC tho.. Try asking for some opinion from Saga BLM owner, there's a Saga BLM thread in FnF section.

IMO, i will go for BLM instead of Myvi..

The reason i choose BLM over Myvi: It's more spacious than Myvi, larger boot space than myvi, it's a 1.3, better handling than Myvi.

Myvi over BLM : Looks cute for a K-car like this, better performance than BLM??, chick dig Myvi more than BLM. (Other than that, i don't have any reason to choose this car sleep.gif)

and the dealer charge me another almost rm2800 to change name,puspakom,etc...for those who buy used car from shop, how much did u paid for the extra cost excluding the car price?
2800 sounds like too much

thx in advance

2.8k IS TOO MUCH for those procedure.. Or you can do the procedure on your own, if u don't mind the hassle like queuing in JPJ, etc..

anyone can give some input for this Chevrolet Aveo 1.5(A), 2004 and cost RM30k.

Cant find too much information about this car on web, What is the FC for this car? Feel that the car price not bad but seem not much ppl go for this car also.  got particular reason?

Actually im consider to buy saga Blm but alot ppl complaining about bad fc that make me stop and start consider others used car have similar price range but does give better FC.

http://www.carlist.my/listings.php?make=Ch...let&model=Aveo5

thankls
*
Older Korean makes tends to have higher FC compared to newer generation of Korean cars..

I assume BLM will be giving better FC than the AVEO..

Lots of BLM owner has reported that Manual tranny give far more better FC than auto tranny.. It has almost 50~80km in difference.

Budget : 300-400 monthly loan, 2K dpayment. Might want to trade in with my old kancil  nod.gif

Here few options of car under my consideration. Need suggestion

1) New Viva elite,  400+ monthly
-FC is the best
-Very compact
-Drivability??  hmm.gif
-QC and service is excellent

2) New BLM,  400+  monthly
-FC vary, some say bad in city driving, some say ok
-Big heavy car
-Some say it's underpower
-Bad QC??  hmm.gif
-Proton service not good??

3) Used Iswara LMST, 2007 version : 300 monthly
-Dunno about this car  laugh.gif
-Some say it's fuel hunger??

4) Used Satria 1.3/1.5, 2002 version : 200 montlhy
-2 doors only
-Sporty
-Mitsu engine spare parts everwhere
*
Depends on what you need, rather to pay extra more RM200 for a new car or not?

I will go for the SAGA BLM, a manual transmission ones. But not the automatic transmission because it's claimed to has higher fuel consumption compared to manual transmission (80km+- difference)

I will never opt for the VIVA, as it's small car which is kind of unstable when cruising in highway, not to mention the car stability when driving in high speed. But if you're just travelling around town, it should be working fine as the FC is good. (Smaller CC capacity).

Iswara LMST, no comment. never done any research on this car.

Satria, sporty but old. If it's a GTi, should be thumbup.gif But GTi is among the top hot theft list.

*
90% city, if carry alot of loads or people. go for the saga.

if 90% mostly drive alone or fetch girlfriend, go for the viva...

5 y.o car don't give much problem?? hmmm.. it's hard to say, if it has all the service records then it should be fine.. You see, some people just know how to drive their car, but not maintaining it.

Get a new car and spend extra RM200~RM300 per month, with peace of mind warranty.

Get a used car and save RM200 ~ RM300 per month, prepare to fork out some money to repair / service this and that. (brake pads, engine oil, ail filter, oil filter, fuel filter, etc)

hi, juzt wanna y'all opinions.  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

currently i'm willing to allocate between rm800 to rm900 per month for my car installment.
assuming i take a 5 or 7 years loan scheme, with rm10K downpayment,

what car should i buy? car model?
should i go for a 50K car but with 3.88% interest rate or should i go for a 75K car but with 2.55% interest rate? should i go for a compact or sedan? as currently i'm 28yr.

my criteria are:
-new car
-90% city, 10% highway driving condition
-reasonable fuel efficient
-easy to maintain (cheap & easy to source spare parts)
-reliable

thanks in advance
*
What car is in your mind now?? 75k can choose various car model already..

Mind to tell which manufacture is offering 2.55% and 3.88% ??

Toyota Vios? Honda City? Kia Forte? Gen 2 CPS? Suzuki Swift??

For your age, if you're attached ... get a sedan, you will found it useful in no time !

But if you're single and doesn't carry much thing/people, compact would be fine too wink.gif

Personally i will go for Sedan, as i don't like small size car. Which i feel lack of confidence when driving, especially in highway.
