1. Brand : any brand
2. Budget : max 60k
3. New/Used/Unreg : new, or is it better to buy used?..not good with car though what i know use car interest rate much higher up to 4%? if use car,age 2004 and above.
4. Type : must be sedan
5. Remarks : currently using kelisa, need an upgrade for future marriage.

2011 Pug 207 Sedan - it is very new and very low mileage, the hidden problem with Pug's is that if you purchased a lemon you can't do much about it than to sell it. It is a good buy if its a good car.

2009 Nissan Latio Sedan - this is the Impul version which is the same as the normal one except for the nice bodykit and white paint, the normal ones usually come in metallic greys and browns. Quite low milage for its age looks like a good buy. The usual problem with this car is that when new the salesman tell them this car is a C Segment car but it looks just abit bigger only than an Altis. End of the day it feels like driving a B Segment car which isn't very good unless you're a second hand bargain hunter.

2010 Toyota Vios - this car doesn't need much introduction just find one thats quite new like this example and low mileage.

2009 Toyota Altis - the previous owner was from the embassy, looks like a bargain buy. Big size, big value, small price tag. Just make sure got no bullet holes, LOL! laugh.gif

2009 Nissan Sentra - can you drive a manual? this is a great car if you can.

thank for the reply..altis and latio look nice..but is it worth to buy the used car with more interest in it?

if new at 60k you're limited to proton/perodua.
which means only saga/persona.
but you get warranty and lower interest rates, almost headache free since new car.

buy new better.
go to showroom and talk to the manager.

2. Budget : 80-90k
3. New/Used/Unreg : used
4. Specs : mid-full spec
5. Transmission : auto
6. NA or FI :  -
7. Type : B or C segment sedan
8. Remarks : reliable and easy to maintain. new enough to be able to apply 9year loan
*
2007 VW Golf Plus - this is a rare grey import model of the golf. shares alot of common parts with the old 1.6 golf, this is not TSI type of engine.

02/07 Merc C180K - well, you can consider this a 10 years old car since manufactured in 2002 but registered in 2007, but being a merc it ages well, for the price its better than anything new, and its quite cheap to maintain if you can find a good merc specialist.

2007 BMW 320 - another good conti. generally bmw's maintainence are abit higher than mercs but better conti option than things like renault, volvo, citroen, etc.

fiesta and almera would be a good pick.

in the kia forte or hyundai elantra you'd get c segment cars for b segment price.
its like buying a value pack house brand at supermarket.
go to the store to buy milo.
original is rm32 but 800g
tesco value pack is rm20 but is 1kg.
of course the tesco one is better value but taste wise? rclxub.gif

between almera, forte and fiesta which one has lower maintenance and sparepart cost?

almera is still unknown since its new, but TCM usually is quite cheap.

QUOTE(kidmad @ Nov 11 2012, 03:13 PM)
Almera service every 5k so quite the mahal. Rm17x per service.  You can choose 10k with fully syn oils I think.  Forte every 10k around rm17x.  Forte major service at 40k is rm8xx..
Fiesta not sure.

Fiesta follows conti pattern for maintenance schedule, every 10k.

latio is good because its a c segment car afterall and its usually slightly higher side of b segment price.
being second hand of course it is a good buy if just looking at specs and car itself but go and make sure the engine and running gear is a-ok!

i am thinking to get 2nd hand honda city. now i am driving 2003 Waja manual with no loan. Thinking to get honda city that used for 2 years for 2010 years. any recommendation.
*
your 2003 waja going to be 10 years old in the next two months.
should be alot you need to do to make sure it can last another 5 like overhaul and changing some perishable bits.
other than that unless you have a lemon the waja is a better car than city.
the current city isn't that great.
the ones made in 2010 don't have VSA the latest facelift got.
its engine got more horsepower but torque is lower than previous model and has a heavier body, so pickup suffers.

Hi! this morning i just went to  used car shop n found that toyota vios 2009 years car selling price 62k.. and i very like it..(i go with my uncle he is vehicle mechanic).
when i asking for change name procedure.. that guy told me need pay rm2760 for changing name.
Rm350 for bank agreenment + 350 for jpj + 150 for puspakon + 1910 for insurant sum issue ( this is my 1st car ).
is it normal this price for changing name ? this is my 1st car.
*
alot of the prices are markup for the runners to earn money.
if you do it yourself you'd save alot but it is troublesome, if you have time you can always do it youself.

2002 Nissan Cefiro 3.0 V6 - A good cheap car, though if the 3000cc roadtax is killing you can always downgrade the engine to something like a RB25DET/1JZ.

2004 Mitsubishi Galant - This is a bargain car, you can hardly see this model at this condition and age being sold at this price, better grab it. VR4 engine no issues for any mechanic to fix.

2002 Merc C200 - Apart from the Uncle looks this car has it all. Easy to maintain, lotsa spare parts, relatively cheap, big and spacious, and high durability.

QUOTE(justinskj @ Nov 19 2012, 09:44 AM)
but will FC differ alot from 1.3 and 1.6??? btw interest rate so low?

this actually depends on the power to weight ratio.
perodua cars are relatively light thus cars like Myvi manual with 1.0 engine will still give decent performance.

Any other non-Malaysian cars at that price range? Is it only the Suzuki Swift? Don't know if i should wait for the new Kia Rio?
Do you think the GS model is worth the extra 3k? Doesnt seem like much difference or at least difference that my mom would appreciate.
PS: Frank was super helpful! Thanks.
*
At the moment I think Mitsubishi Mirage and Nissan Almera are moving in the correct direction.
They're giving the goodies we want at an affordable price.
If you can wait I think there should be a reaction from UMW soon to re-spec and re-price the Vios to compete.

Hi all,
need really urgent advice about Chery Eastar 2.0....
currently comparing with Exora Bold Premium and i realized that lots of bad comment about this Chery Eastar in this forum but i found that the design is not so bad for me...the things that i like most for this MPV are the sunroof, auto-climate control, 5 unit LCD screen and also the dashboard design, which are not provided in Exora Bold...other features are just the same...
also not so sure which one better? 1.6L CFE (Turbo) or 2.0L engine?
at first, only considering Exora Bold in my mind but since Chery Eastar give really high trade-in value for my Proton Persona plus RM8600 rebate, so it make me confuse which one to choose....please help me... rclxub.gif
*
Eastar is one of the best selling MPV and also Chinese car in our market.
Quality wise it isn't at the same level you'd expect even from Proton.
You see the gaps between panels are quite big and welding is quite crude.
But the specs are attractive and alot of it on the road.
Parts should be widely available but cost unsure.

2009 Pug 308T - beautiful car at decent mileage. looks like a bargain pug.

2009 VW Jetta - this is not the current model which has a 1.4 turbo engine, this one has the 2000cc engine, its powerful and well built.

2007 Honda Civic - this is the 1800cc version, unless you're a speed demon then this car has enough power to satisfy you, one tank can bring you to 500km away.

The Honda Accord should be a good bargain buy for you.
Right now Honda doing 0.88% for this model.
Its got alot more tech than the current rival Toyota Camry.
Although this model will probably be phased out next year.
But the new CRV should come before the new Accord.

Do consider VW Passat/Jetta.

the Pug and Volks seems to be high maintenance due to the parts and liquid that going to use by them.

Civic might be a good choise... but 500km which consists of how many Litres?

Mirage... no.. how you think about it?

The Pug will have expensive parts since Naza monopoly on the importing of parts.

You can get the specs at Honda's website.

I think its a bargain buy for something cheap and cheerful.

1995 Toyota MR2 - very reliable, powerful engine, good handling, only problem is an auto, manuals are more expensive.

1996 Honda Integra - reliable, powerful and handles well, again no manuals available in market now.

2004 Nissan Sentra - there are manuals also available in this price range and age but I picked this because of the low mileage.

2005 Smart ForTwo - semi auto is abit jerky for some because its a direct shift type (i.e. a robotic manual) but its way more reliable and fast.
