Hi,
I'm looking for cheap family car. Is Persona std edition good enough for new family?
New car or used?

1. Brand : Toyota/Honda/Nissan
2. Budget : 35k +/- cash
3. New/Used/Unreg : USED
4. Specs : Sedan
5. Transmission : A or M
6. Remarks : low maintenance, easy to get spare part, got service centre around Kelantan/Terengganu, good handling & safety, wide driving space, high durability
thanks in advance for any reply..
2002 Nissan Cefiro 3.0 V6 - A good cheap car, though if the 3000cc roadtax is killing you can always downgrade the engine to something like a RB25DET/1JZ.
2004 Mitsubishi Galant - This is a bargain car, you can hardly see this model at this condition and age being sold at this price, better grab it. VR4 engine no issues for any mechanic to fix.
2002 Merc C200 - Apart from the Uncle looks this car has it all. Easy to maintain, lotsa spare parts, relatively cheap, big and spacious, and high durability.
QUOTE(justinskj @ Nov 19 2012, 09:44 AM)
but will FC differ alot from 1.3 and 1.6??? btw interest rate so low?
this actually depends on the power to weight ratio.
perodua cars are relatively light thus cars like Myvi manual with 1.0 engine will still give decent performance.

Question:
First time buying car and I suddenly thought of this..
Should there be any mileage on the odometer?
For a new car you mean?
Usually there will be abit on the odometer as the SA needs to drive it out to get polished, inspected, tinted, etc.
QUOTE(silentG @ Nov 20 2012, 03:22 PM)
Hey Zenix!
I'm looking at one of the compacts for my mom.
Mirage seems attractive!
Don't suppose there's a better car at that price range right?
Any other non-Malaysian cars at that price range? Is it only the Suzuki Swift? Don't know if i should wait for the new Kia Rio?
Do you think the GS model is worth the extra 3k? Doesnt seem like much difference or at least difference that my mom would appreciate.
PS: Frank was super helpful! Thanks.
At the moment I think Mitsubishi Mirage and Nissan Almera are moving in the correct direction.
They're giving the goodies we want at an affordable price.
If you can wait I think there should be a reaction from UMW soon to re-spec and re-price the Vios to compete.
QUOTE(justinskj @ Nov 21 2012, 08:51 PM)
USUALLY how long for loan to process and when will the vehicle be OTR?
Depends on your documentation and salary.
If enough salary and documentation enough can be done within a week.

1) Brand : any.
2) Budjet : anything i can afford with 4k net salary
3) dont matter.
4) any specs.
5) auto, paddle shifter, tiptronic. as long no manual unless no choice
6)na prefered
7)type 2seater or 2/2
8) remarks : prefered to sit low. 2 doors. maintainance no too terrible. and paddle shifter prefered
dont know if its possible to own a coupe. im 22 unmarried

.
4k salary you can afford the CRZ but without significant downpayment more than 50% of your salary is going to the car.

First time to buy car. Suggest me thank you. =)
2009 Proton Waja CPS - looks like a real bargain for the price, but cash only.
2006 Honda City - a good car at a good price. service it regularly then you shouldn't have issues with this car, plus this car is famous for fuel economy (>500km per tank).
or either Myvi/Persona of your choice.

anything to concern about Nissan Sentra 2004? if I need to give attention to..
Its going to be 10 years old in 2 years.
When buying it make sure the perishables are replaced.
e.g. engine oil, brake fluid, radiator fluid, timing belt, spark plugs, etc.

Hi,
Is there any problem I should be aware of with Suzuki Swift? Planning to get 1 used for around 30k, i think it's around 6 years old.
Decent car but abit high on the fuel consumption.

Hi all,
need really urgent advice about Chery Eastar 2.0....
currently comparing with Exora Bold Premium and i realized that lots of bad comment about this Chery Eastar in this forum but i found that the design is not so bad for me...the things that i like most for this MPV are the sunroof, auto-climate control, 5 unit LCD screen and also the dashboard design, which are not provided in Exora Bold...other features are just the same...
also not so sure which one better? 1.6L CFE (Turbo) or 2.0L engine?
at first, only considering Exora Bold in my mind but since Chery Eastar give really high trade-in value for my Proton Persona plus RM8600 rebate, so it make me confuse which one to choose....please help me...

Eastar is one of the best selling MPV and also Chinese car in our market.
Quality wise it isn't at the same level you'd expect even from Proton.
You see the gaps between panels are quite big and welding is quite crude.
But the specs are attractive and alot of it on the road.
Parts should be widely available but cost unsure.

8. Remarks : hmm.. don't want underpower car, and FC have to in acceptable range.
2009 Pug 308T - beautiful car at decent mileage. looks like a bargain pug.
2009 VW Jetta - this is not the current model which has a 1.4 turbo engine, this one has the 2000cc engine, its powerful and well built.
2007 Honda Civic - this is the 1800cc version, unless you're a speed demon then this car has enough power to satisfy you, one tank can bring you to 500km away.

1. Brand. - Any
2. Budget. - after minus my monthly expenses excluding car loan i still have 6.6k
3. New/Used/Unreg. - New
4. Specs. - 2.0L at least
5. Transmission. Automatic with paddle shift
6. NA or FI ? Doesnt really matter
7. Type. Sedan
8. Remarks. good looks with good acceleration, low maintenance, FC preferably low
The Honda Accord should be a good bargain buy for you.
Right now Honda doing 0.88% for this model.
Its got alot more tech than the current rival Toyota Camry.
Although this model will probably be phased out next year.
But the new CRV should come before the new Accord.
Do consider VW Passat/Jetta.
