QUOTE(Feonfeon @ Nov 26 2009, 10:40 AM) Sorry if i come back with more questions.. i jus don want to waste my $ on next laptop that last for 1 year oni.. if really want similar, consider HP Pav. dv2-1122, 12.1'', AMD ATHLON NEO X2 L355, ATI RADEON X3410, 2gb ram, 320gb hdd, should be rm 2.5k.i checked my previous laptop that died on me. HP Pav. 2032 -AMD Athlon (1.9Ghz, 512Kb L2 Cache), 2 GB RAM, 160 HD, 12.1", Nvidia Gforce 6150 -Bought for RM 2.8K Now can i know if there's anything similar brand/model like my previous lap on the market nowdays? I found this requirement is enough for me to do my everyday tasks including playing Sims 3. -Budget shall b RM 2k to 2.5k or less is better. Thanks unless really anti-amd, consider k40in, or the inspiron 13 with upgrade video card. This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Nov 26 2009, 02:53 PM |

gpu = video card, which is most important factor in gaming
well, the current dv2 is better in multitasking than the last time dv2 since now using dual core rather than single core This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Nov 26 2009, 03:08 PM |

faster cpu won't make you game faster, but better gpu does, which is in most case.
unless you are not interested in gaming.... go with u80v |

consider Asus K40AB/K50AB, amd ql-65, ati hd4570, 2 years international warranty for rm 1999
or lenovo g450, intel t6600, nvidia g210m, one year warranty, rm 1999. performance pretty similar with lenovo might give better battery life. both free DOS~ This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Nov 28 2009, 05:54 PM |

the latest spec on Asus U80V is using p7450.
performance wise then the m500 and u80v should be the same as for l510, still unknown what type of vram being used on it, can't comment, it might have same performance with other two or might exceed. well, I'm more with the asus since it got two year warranty and lighter (2.1kg)and maybe comes with backlit keyboard, but seems like also the most expensive out of those three. |

well, then how light is light?
inspiron 13 + upgrade gpu to hd4330, 1.8kg, 13.3'', rm 2.5k hp dv2, rm 2.5k others, asus k40ab(amd ql-65,hd4570), lenovo g450(t6600, g210m), but weighted at 2.3-2.4kg for rm 1999. can't really get at 2.3k |

performance wise, both should be around the same.
k40ab, got 2 year warranty g450, might have better battery life than k40ab no need to wait pc fair, its mostly just extra freebies, which also can get by a bit nego on shops ^^ |

both has glossy finishing.
k40ab has carbon-fibre pattern like while g450 has strip pattern in it. both has solid build quality. the k40ab should have cooler palm rest and the heatsink is at the back, so the heat is more concentrated at the center back. while g450 heatsink is located at the side. and one more is, k40ab don't have bluetooth. g450, not sure.
