Use a file browser like Astro. There is a file named “build.prop” or just “build” in /system folder. Open it with any notepad program. In the file look for ro.product.locale.region=. mine is ro.product.locale.region=IT. It means it is an Italy set. HK for hong kong etc etc.. Remember not to save anything. at least you’ll know when its available 

I just bought my Milestone from AutomationBites. Not too bad. I gave em a call, confirmed on the spot and organised for them to meet my contact at Low Yat Plaza. Takes roughly 2 days notice. And yeah, it's $2000, although as most people have said, it's a HK AP set.

On the phone, so far so good!! All the apps seem to work fine, and most apps are free, which is a cool. Haven't seen any paid apps though.
Phone is smooth, operates very well and overall works fine. If you were an iPhone user (Like me) the transition over is actually pretty easy and good. I find (Well, for me anyway) the phone easier to use than the iPhone. On-screen keyboard is VERY nice. As an ex-iPhone user, I found the keyboard nicer to use (Especially since I have fat, stubby fingers). The QWERTY key-board isn't too bad, but it needs some getting used too. The directional button is incredibly weird to use though.

Also, I think someone said that the motonav isn't working, and I've also got that problem. I haven't computer sync'd the set, since I just got it yesterday, but so far Motonav doesn't work, but Maps works (Within a 70m accuracy )

Yup I do, but only when calling!! Not sure if it's normal or not. I know HTC phones heat up quite alot when charging, and they become very warm, maybe it's just the way these smart phones work :\

I think what most people would be waiting for now is a screen protector. The dimensions are similar to the iPhone's screen size (Although the iPhone is slightly wider, and the Milestone slightly longer). Anyone know if there is a screen protector for the Milestone? Or maybe I should get a HTC HD2 screen protector and cut of excess film

Update already available on my italian set. However when tried to download it the error msg package is corrupted.

Managed to update via software updater in the end

The unlock screen is different in this new update

AFAIK currently Italian 2.0.1 can be rooted, i can confirm this as I've rooted mine.

What i know is that France Build is 2.0.1.15 which cannot be rooted. However Hong Kong & Italy set built is 2.0.1.14 which still can be rooted.

Uhm ... then there's isn't any point for 2.1 upgrade cause it seems useless since MILESTONE already had multitouch ==
by the way, i saw many people rooting thier milestone to 2.1 having the active wallpaper and those nexus one features..
If the official one does not do any of those... i guess sticking to 2.0 is better ?

wont overclock my milestone though... dont want to risk it      cost me RM2k
