I can't find the setting you mention above. I got a problem with pairing with my ITECH D-Clip Bluetooth headset. My phone cannot seach the bluetooth device. Try seaching and searching but can't found it to appear on my device. Anybody can help me on this because i really need it.  sad.gif

Alternatively : Use Start/Settings/Bluetooth to search/pair your headset. Your iTech is a common genreric set - there will be no issue pairing unless your headset is defective

SSPL now available - so rom addicts can now start flashing their phones. The process is extremely simple and flashing another rom takes about 10 minutes only:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589642

I am now testing out Topix rom:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...t=595318&page=9

My immediate observation - more memory released in storage and most processes are faster. Of course some minor bugs - but not "killing" type - the developer will continue to refined it with feedbacks from users

have u seen this : TOUCH-IT ROM
*
This TOUCH-it Rom has one feature lacking : it cannot allow one to setup more than 9 quicklinks on homescreen/and same wallpaper across all tabs. I can do it with the Topix rom - which I have 20 quicklink shortcuts on homescreen and same wallpaper across all tabs

Just to update : I install exactly same set of 3rd party programs and personal database ( PIM, icons sets, mail, SMS, wallpaers etc ) on the cooked rom. Previously I average 55-60 MB free storage left ; now with the cooked rom I have 105 MB FREE !!!!

Do this for all these shortcuts
Soft reset
The icons will not appear anymore

You also can use same method to hide all the other HTC icons

anyone know how much for replacement battery?

Original now selling in Spore S$65. I bought a generic type online from www.netimes.com for HK$60 - I'd say its performance is poorer guessestimate about 80 % but I find is good enough as is so cheap

Sorry, I found them tongue.gif
*
If in system memory : My Documents/My Pictures/100MEDIA

If storage card : /DCIM/100MEDIA

You can set where you want to save photos: Camera/select the small rectangular logo at bottom/select the gear logo : you will see a MENU shot with 6 options; Choose the lowest left hand side - yoo can then select storage card or internal storage

I have been testing various cooked roms over the last few days - Topix, Xanny Tech, Duttys, Miri and 135VY. I noted for all these cooked roms, I have gain additional free storage memory ranging from 50 MB to 80 MB !!! Just goes to shows how much "junk" and unnecessary files are builtin the original official roms. All the roms have a common feature - bootup and response time is way much better and screen sensitivy is better too. I'd highly recommend those who are willing to go up another step to tweak their HD2 should try it. Rom upgrade is very simple - just download the SSPL file :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606713

I'd say this is the EASIEST SPL process I'd have use ( having tinkering with roms of HTC HD, TP2, TP, 3600i , Dopd U1000 etc ).

Then choose which rom you'd like - go thro their features/users feedbacks etc :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=534

Lastly you can customize your HD2 look using a large variety of tools :

MaxManila at : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551489

Manila tweaks by others : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583862

Attached example of my unit after customization ; all icons I have mostly change to my own taste

Which of the above ROM is your preference? I like the two buttons at the bottom of the Today screen rclxms.gif
*
The 2 buttons are from DJCedric cabs : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=604469

Presently I am on Topix 1.1.2 - my longest so far. This is the rom where I recovered about 80MB free storage memory . Now my HD2 with all my 3rd party programs all installed , I have about 128MB free storage mempory versus about 40MB previously in the official rom. The problem with Topix is he updates his rom very frequently- at least once a week

Miri's rom is equally good and can match topix..

XannyTech and Dutty's I find still buggy

Great Benny, I was about to PM you regarding the cooked ROM biggrin.gif.

Anyway I heard that Topix is very good. But the latest replied in the XDA forums stating that there is a problem like all the setting reset back to factory setting. Do you face this kind of problem?
*
No such issue so far. If you wish to try suggest Topix or Miri as starters. If you like to have extra folders ( eg Multimedia, Tools, Navigation, etc ) pre set for you - Topix ; Miri's rom comes with no extra preset folders

Thanks for the tips benn! So u're using the SSPL to change ROMs? Planning to change ROM too... Any idea where to get the original HTC ROM in case wanna change back? (Like for warranty or sumthing like tat... better be prepared for any crap that might happen tongue.gif)

I'm currently using Sprite Backup to backup everything on my HD2, in case I need to do a HR. If I change ROM, can I use the backup files I made from current ori ROM?

Will probably try out with Topix 1st wink.gif
*
You can download the Asian official rom ( I assume you bought in Msia ) here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...=577717&page=21 at post#203.
Other rom versions just search around this weblink at the front pages

Yesterday HSPL was released http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433; with it you can now flash new radio. The HSPL process is also very easy

This morning I use HSPL to flash the Turkish rom ( so far is only official rom with latest radio 2.06) ; then I continue to reflash the Topix cooked rom. So my HD2 is now on Topix 1.1.2 and radio 2.06
You need to download first Leo custom RUU to flash rom after the hard SPL is done : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=575524

Benny, mind to link which Turkish ROM you used? Is it through this LINK?

Another question is, how is the flashing of ROM goes? Is there any precautions steps that we need to take/avoid to avoid unnecessary brick?

Thanks smile.gif

Download from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=598935

Flashing is easy - just follow the steps , pretty straight forward

Precautions : REMEMBER to take out SIM card and micro SD card to avoid motherboard kena fried. It happen to me before one time in my previous Dopod U1000 ; that time I was upgrading official rom - so was able to claim warranty and HTC Spore replace the motherboard free of charge

What i know is after flashed the custom ROM, the warranty is not valid already even flash back to official rom.
Happen to me during using HTC HD last time. Send back to claim warranty but they reject it and i need to paid
for the cost of repair. Just sharing.

For the HD or any others - you must restore back the SPL and also radio ( if is changed ) not only the original rom. First thing SIS or any authorised dealer do is go to bootloader mode ( tricolor screen ) to check the SPL version. Many people forget to do this step and think by restoring back the original rom is good enough. I have help 2 friends claim warranty by restoring back the stock SPL and stock rom - SIS cannot detect there is a rom change before. And also make sure you are restoring back the actual rom not any other official rom ; so before you do any rom cooking write down the original rom version and download a copy of first for possible restoration purposes

Sorry if this had been asked before. I can't find the solution.

I don't have SMS issue before with Maxis. But face it after change to Celcom.
After applied SMS hotfix. I still have problem to send SMS at home tab. Stuck at outbox.
Any Celcom user facing the same issue? Or just me?
Thanks.
*
Is your Celcom card the new type ; try change it at Celcom centre . I do not know what are the differences between the two but I have mine change when I have one sms stuck in outbox when in Spore. Subsequent SMS were sent out successfully. So the next day I pop into Celcom centre and requested a change. The tech guy told me mine was a old type ( only 1 year ago I change for Blackberry purposes ) . Anyway till now already 35 days - I never have sms stuck in outbox. I also never install the hotfix since then ( maybe it is fixed in the cooked rom I am using )

I would like to ask. If let say I flashed my ROM to Turkey rom. will i still be able to install this hotfix (or all the previous/future hotfixes)?
*
YES you can still do it. all hotfixes will just overwrite your original files : it will not affect your device

All radio updates WILL NOT erase your data ; only ROM updates will. So do not not worry - just go ahead

The earlier posts above on iPhone vs HD2 will be a never ending debate. There is actually no ONE perfect pdaphone. Each has its pros and cons. Basically ask yourself what are the important features that you need and your decision is easy. I also have a iPhone but rarely used it except only during waiting at airport/on plane : catch up with my podcasts and some audio books

For me business related applications are more important : so far I find most of the iphone apps are dissapointing - I find it too basic and mainy "flashy". I'd say the iphone is very good in browsing and its multimedia functions and games.

Example - I prefer the WM PDA mainly because my needs are :

1. It can SYNC my PIM with both my Macbook ( using Missing Sync) and Windows
XP notebook
2. The full features of Office Mobile which is terribly lacking in the iphone
3. File managements on the WM PDA is far superior ( cut/paste/forward functions, forwarding of Tweets and RSS feeds thro SMS and email etc )
4. E Books : WM offers me many options - Mobireader, EReader, Isilo, Repligo. All these are top class e readers with lots of functionalities builtin. Iphone ebook readers are too basic with no/or very limited functions
4. Multitasking which iphone lacks
5. SMS/Email backups is easier on the WM pda ; restoration rate is 100 % and all these I can do on the phone and sd card, without need to use a computer
