The middle part u better get from samsung direct as the ones that are sold in Ebay does not contain the antennas and some shielding.. the digitizer the bezel and the back cover I suppose u can get from ebay.

I changed mine ... full set around RM80 from ebay.. hehe the middle part cannot be used tho. ;-)

Hope it helps.. if u are planning to change to another color be wary of the power n menu buttons tho

Thanks. that is a very nice insightful advice. the full set from china is tempting price-wise, but I know there might be a catch. Which you have just confirmed.

Anyway, has anyone get a full on board 16GB microSD without any serious performance speed decrease?

My free 4GB just can't hold it anymore..too many movies to be stored.

I can't say for sure, but I have mixed results of downloads on 3G. Sometimes it works and other times doesn't. Just to be on the safe side, try downloading on wifi, it could be because of the speed

I'm using sms at hand now and move the messages now and then to storage.

If you're using outlook then you can try Jeyo mobile extender, if you can get it up and running then you can just use outlook to manage, backup your messages.

Others like spb backup and other sms backup software will only backup your sms to archieve or text file.

Just use activesync and sync all of your messages into the PC? That'd be easier, and if you are willing and courageous enough, try to flash the phone into a cooked, light rom. It'll help with the low memory errors.

It's not a Windows Mobile anymore, it's a Windows Phone 7. It's way different, has has minimum requirements set by Microsoft in order to have full user experience (Smooth UI,etc). With the Omnia, being one of the leaders of WinMo at one time, it's aging specifications won't be able to catch up..even with the touch profile of Windows Phone, In which they'd have to have multitouch. Omnia's are maufactured with Resistive touch screens, which only allow a single touch ,and more of a press rather than a touch.

That is just one of the features Omnia I900 can't cope with, way too many more.
It's a new OS all over , and it's WAAAy different than WinMo.

And hence, Samsung came up with this Samsung Omnia 7 icon_rolleyes.gif

This may be due to conflicting access points, try to delete other access points, and also, try with the phone off ( flight mode).

It's been a while since I've entered this thread.. since my omnia died on me . T______T

Can I know once I installed Droid 2.2+ (for WQVGA still 2.1) with SPB Mobile Shell, can I disable the theme without uninstalling if I want to revert back to normal WinMo theme?

I'm currently using OCK's GTX 23118 refreshed ROM...

Just like any mobile shell, you can go to 'show today' to get to the winmo today screen.

are u certain you got the right screens? our omnia is (WQVGA), FYI the 2.2 currently is only for WVGA, the developer will release WQVGA this weekend (hopefully).

for spb mobile shell, you dont choose themes but you build your page using widget and customise each widget using skins. more info on spb website.

with droid pro you get extra widgets and skins to skin your mobile to look like a better version of android

I downloaded the .cab file from modaco, NETCFv35.cab, but when I install it, it says I need to remove the old version. I downloaded the PHM Registry Editor and removed the old version from HKLM/software/microsoft/.net compact framework. After that, I rebooted my phone and tried to install NETCFv35.cab again. But, it still refuses to work. I've tried numerous different methods, but none of them seem to work. I am using a Samsung Omnia i900. Please help! If you require screenshots please ask me! Thanks!

Android on OMnia is possible to be function, but somehow still got some function is not working at all. but a soft reset will revert back to WinMo

SPB shell is just a program for theme, which is very much draining out ur battery life, can easily disable by close the program.
