how to get tat logo? apply what?

no logo exactly like this> Link - Click ME
That is the pure AMEX card. How to get that logo ? You will have to apply for an AMEX bearing the Maybankard logo as listed in their website.

can i use my card right away after receiving it or do i need to do anything first?
Just follow the instructions written in the letter attached. If it says to call in to have the card activated, then just do what it says.

Try to avoid any foreign hotel/ transportation booking using AMEX. The conversion rate is insanely high, imaging current euro is only 4.1X -4.20.
They are cheeky to charge me at a rate of 4.37.  mad.gif  cool2.gif Wonder how they decide the rate as advertised in Maybank is still much lower. Forget it AMEX, I would not swipe you in oversea anymore... damn...

Going to make a complaint call to them today..
No point making a complaint to them. All the applicable charges for the overseas use of AMEX are clearly stated behind every page of your bill.

I assume you are using the true AMEX without any Maybank logo on it ? There is a 2.5% administration charge for all overseas transactions.

Amex CS quality has dropped... I believe this just started not long ago right? If remembers correctly its starting beginning of this year...
As i remember last year i have no problem calling Amex CS and my call will be picked up in around 1-2 minutes...
May be they cut down on their operating cost by firing many of their AMEX CS which is not made known to public biggrin.gif

I just noticed that my Amex's current statement.
Statement date: 12.05.10
Due date: 12.06.10
1 month? I remembered last time was 20 days only. Now they had extended the period to 1 month?  rclxms.gif
Could be a printing error or system glitch.

Yeah, bit unstable. Couldn't find my card num initially. Another bug: AMEX credit card unable to view MR, but charge card can view.

They must be conned by upgrade con-sultan. LOL. Summore, the graphical interface looks unprofessional *sigh*
AMEX Gold credit card can't be added into AMEX online even before the upgrade. Not too sure about AMEX Platinum credit card though.

I believe Citibank is one of the very few banks that can temporary increase your credit line right away on the phone (as seen in the TV advertisement since 5 years ago).

Can I cancel the card and NOT pay the GST?

For the record, my card's anniv date is early this year and now only I'm charged such a fee!

In this case, most likely not as they should have billed you the credit/charge card tax months ago.

QUOTE(lowyatben @ Jul 19 2010, 04:31 PM)
One more thing, can we redeem cash with the points?

Yes. You can. Please refer to this PDF file > AMEX Card Tax

QUOTE(lowyatben @ Jul 19 2010, 04:31 PM)
IIRC, it was previously RM1 for every 200 points. Unless Amex "screws" its customers again!
This is still the same.

Because they accept only VISA or MasterCard. No insurance company accepts AMEX yet, if i'm not mistaken.

Do you think it is wise to hold the charge card? Since there is nothing special or benefit using it.

That is totally up to you.

QUOTE(jasontoh @ Aug 10 2010, 02:54 PM)
Another thing is how to pay bills using the Amex charge card?
- Over the counter payment at any Maybank or BSN branches
- M2U fund transfer
- RHB Online Banking bill payment transfer (charge card is supported too)
- Maybank Cheque Deposit Machine

I mean pay bills using the card. Not paying the card. Paying the card bill is easy as it is already logged into my M2U.
Oh blush.gif

You do it through auto-debit for bills like TM/TNB/Maxis/DiGi etc. Or just swipe it over the counter. AMEX is only acccepted through auto-debit for TM and TNB.
