Android 2.0 adds support for flash and SE doesn't want to include it  mad.gif

Added on October 31, 2009, 5:26 pmThe small white circle next to the lens ... is that the flash? Hopefully it is  smile.gif

The Flash that comes with Android 2.0 is Adobe Flash 10 .. while what the guys here were talking about is the camera flash smile.gif

Android 2.0 adds native support for "flash, digital zoom and white balance etc" smile.gif

Btw, Flash 10 is coming 2010, so currently is not included in the webkit browser with Android 2.0 devices (correct me if im wrong abt the date)

The 32GB iPhone 3GS is abt RM2990, hope SE will price X10 below this to compete biggrin.gif

u don need to compare with iphone 3gs 32gb ... the hardware that SE Xperia10 provided far more special ... and not just same internal storage (both 32gb )

x10 - 8 MP led flash , snapdragon proc , larger screen 4 inches (0.5 inches biggher than iphone 3gs) , stereo speaker , extension card slot ..

this hardware are far greater than iphone 3gs .. since the release price are same with iphone 3gs about 3.5k early june/july .. there is nothing more that iphone have than X10 or just maybe lighter weight than x10

Agreed. But Apple products are wayyy too overpriced (even at the current RM2990). And with many other choices, N900 (EUR500), Hero, Moto Milestone (EUR500) , Acer Liquid (~EUR400 ??).. I really do hope SE will price the X10 more competitively .. maybe just a bit higher than Satio smile.gif

RM2800 ~ RM3000 is my guess .. I really can't believe SE will price it much higher than Nokia N900 and Moto Milestone .. that'll be disastrous for SE (and for me) biggrin.gif

ETA 2010, Android 1.6, 1GB storage??, no FM receiver??, TFT screen 262K color (not OLED) vmad.gif

Hmm, Android 1.6, no BT file transfer and no multi-touch as well?

Now, this makes me believe SE is going to price X10 very near to Nokia N900, Milestone and Satio smile.gif

with those rumored spec ... are totally far from the original spec ... disappointment

262k colors in 4 inches screen .. big screen lack of colors and multitouch .. is frustrating .. even the droid screen with 16m color are nicer

rumored spec .. 32gb internal storage instead of only 1 gb ... the person who started the rumored spec on the sites before official release need to go meditate in order to learn sumthing more relevant thinking .. lol ..

maybe this lacks are in order to decrease pressure in Xperia10 battery life .. with snapdragon proc , 4 inches display ,8mp camera .. of course it will suck out the energy instantly

i think the main SE trump card is in the RachealUI it self .. Timescape and Mediascape are fascinating .. the concept beyond the infinite key by showing all related things are truly worth thinking .. not only in person contact aspect .. even in media aspect too ... it will much easier .. for the user ..

QUOTE
Mediascape does the same for the media on your phone, presenting what you have available locally or online, and making track suggestions on the basis of the song you're listening to or stuff it has discovered your friends like via their communications with you. Finally, there's face recognition, which automates photo tagging by recognizing your friends after the first time you tag them, and also allows you to call someone by simply tapping on their face when viewing a picture.
the quote taken from engadget links in earlier post

the handset also laggy .. by gizmodo, slashgear, engadget .. hands-on .. with snapdragon proc .. also occur this kind of prob .. how it could be ?? till all of those info given .. i think its not worth it ..

laggy hardware ... nice software .. also would make the experience while using it .. frustrating is it ??

and finally the TRUE SPEC of the SE Xperia 10 by gsmarena.com
by this device spec and performance right now .. the price would not far than droid and hero to make it worth full ..

Hmmm, I see in the official site, it has only 16536 colours? doesnt tat.....suck?
source: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/m...tions/xperiax10
or is it just typo?
And Android 1.6~ hmm.. Was expecting 2.0

o wait, does SE include Market for us? If so, then it'll be nice..
and hopefully, when it's really available, it wont be so lag.

~tera~,

Don't worry about the lag.. from the video, you can see that the things that lag are the Timescape and Mediascape applications , everything else provided by the Android OS is FAST, e.g browsing, google maps etc.

So, SE only needs to optimize those apps and ui elements that they coded. Not sure how much SE can optimize their apps tho. Having said that, I'll buy the darn thing in a heartbeat even if there are no Timescape and Mediascape apps smile.gif ... just give me minimal modded UI (or stock Android) and FAST speed. The more layers added, the slower it gets sad.gif

yan5619
,

Yea, it's stated Android Market is included.. not sure whether it will be on Malaysian sets tho smile.gif

Press release: 262K colors
Official site: 16,536 colors
White Paper: 64K colors

Even SE is not sure what type of display smile.gif ... now, this is not a good sign hahaha... i think they'll correct the typos soon.

PS:
Will wait for the official details from SE whether there will be an official upgrade to Android 2.0

Anyway, I think SE is way too slow. By the time X10 is available (Feb/March).. it has to compete with Nokia N900, Moto Milestone (both may well be selling for below RM2500 by then), Acer Liquid .. and maybe HTC Dragon and iPhone 4G biggrin.gif

The lagginess may be due to the UI too, well still have to wait for the improved ones.

Well I hope HTC Dragon can come out soon, I still believe that HTC's Sense UI is better designed, given the current situation.
iPhone 4G, it wont be out till Summer 2010, or Q3 at least.

The things I like most about SE phones are the camera and the music quality. Darn good as compared to others.

Was joking about the iPhone 4G .. but who knows, LTE 4G will be available early 2010 in US .... Apple may take advantage of that to kill off competition ... or providing some "leaks" will be enough to unsettle many non-iphone users (pure speculation) biggrin.gif

Anyway, iPhone 4G may just mean 4th generation and has nothing to do with LTE.

My point on the last post is >> by the time X10 is released there will be many other high-end phones on the market, and many others announced & on the way.

Yea, LTE in US, but in Malaysia, even 3G is new....

And Apple has a way of marketing and design that, well, balanced in some way, but lack of feature in another way, which makes the consumer happy enough, despite having a bit less of functionality.

Talking about X10, yup, it'll be challanging for SE upon releasing, the big players are coming in with similar or better hardware.
Oh ya, IINM, the OEM for X1 is HTC, any idea what about X10?

Waiting for one day where i can sync my android with OSX contacts -.- , .........in the meantime Gmail would just have to do la.

BTW my guesstimate for Liquid retail price would be less than rm2k or within that ballpark. This unit do not have the outlook to command HTC'esq prices unless they decide to make DRASTIC changes to the outlook for the launch unit. I personally havent seen the NeoTouch 200 yet but from webpics the build quality is much better than the Liquid eventhough they are near identical inside.

I've also seen a HTC HD runnin Android...personally it feels 'cacat', resistive runnin Android just feels not right.

Behold ... newest Android User Interface .. Touch Wiz in

Samsung Behold II

QUOTE
Dubbing itself the "multimedia powerhouse" for T-Mobile's expansive Android lineup, the Samsung Behold II has just been confirmed for that rumored November 18th launch on T-Mobile (still no word on price, though we're hearing a predictable $200). The slate-style touchscreen handset has a 3.2-inch AMOLED display, and puts it to good use with a hearty skinning job on the part of Samsung, porting in most (but not all) of its TouchWiz UI -- unfortunately for us, that silly cube menu made the cut. Underneath is Android 1.5, and what seems to be a pretty standard processor.

side menu is xtraordinary ...with AMOLED screen rich with colors .. nice UI .. but the cube looks .. nothin special .. lol

The difference in the 16 million colors of the Droid and the 65,536 colors of the Xperia X10 is the version of Android being run. Android 1.6 isn’t capable/compatible with 16M devices and so the full functionality of the X10 hardware isn’t utilized. Yes… the X10 DOES support 16 million colors but because it will launch with Android 1.6 and not Android 2.0, you won’t be able to enjoy 16 million color functionality.

If it hasn't been discussed before, the 16 million colors is limited by the OS, not the hardware, for SE Xperia X10.

Has Android helped HTC

Quite notable, Google’s Android operating system helped HTC become the fastest growing smartphone in Q3 of 2009. This wasn’t an easy task as HTC had a very low base to begin with. But it just might have been the hotness of the smartphone market (12% gain) coupled with the hot new operating system that enabled HTC to gain considerable traction with their Google-phones.
