he said today is just a dead cat bounce... i.e, its just a temporary rebound and soon will resume downtrend.

frankly i am unsure of the trend at the moment, so have to listen to my sifu.. but i still think selective stocks can still move.. no idea which one though, so i just stay out for now. blush.gif

It's true that market sentiment need some form of positive signs to further boost the uptrend. As for right now, buy only those with the prospect and not because of speculation. It's fine if you miss the opportunity to earn as you may on a ride next round but not losing money and stuck with unproductive stocks which could take years to reach the current level.

about goldenagri

"IOI supplies the bulk of its crude palm oil to Europe and there is a lot of pressure to ensure that their supply chain is clean," said a trader with links to IOI. "SMART needs to go well beyond the audit to regain their clients' confidence."
IOI, Malaysia's No. 2 planter, used to order crude palm oil cargoes from SMART's parent, Singapore's Golden Agri-Resources, to fulfil its own supply contracts to consumer goods giant Unilever.

IOI has stopped buying from Golden Agri and issued written clauses to its brokers to ensure that the company and its Indonesian unit are not the end-suppliers, said two traders who saw the documents.

With such good results (that really surprised me), next year should be even better once more tables/rooms go operational... smile.gif

do you go to cna forum? here's what one forumer said

Malaysia's sovereign fund Khazanah Nasional has received 71.1 per cent acceptances from shareholders of healthcare firm Parkway Holdings at the close of its voluntary general offer.

Khazanah, together with the 24 percent stake in Parkway it already owns, is set to own 95 percent of total shares in the company.

This means Parkway Holdings will no longer meet the minimum public float required for a listing on the Singapore Exchange.

In its filing, Khazanah said it is currently evaluating its position with respect to the listing status of the Company and reserves its right to compulsorily acquire the remaining shares.

It will make an announcement in due course.

Khazanah had been involved in a two-month takeover tussle with Fortis Healthcare over Parkway.

This ended when Fortis, which owns about a quarter stake in Parkway, accepted Khazanah's general offer of S$3.95 per share in July.

Khazanah's revised offer is about 4.5 per cent higher than its partial offer of S$3.78 and will cost around S$3.5 billion.

The last time when a foreign company acquire a stake in Bernas, the politicians in Malaysia make a big issue out of it. Now, the Malaysian government entity is set to control another country's healthcare company. I wonder if these same politicians have the brains in their backside.

Nobel is an amazing company which i had my eyes on for quite some time. If you are a value inverter, this is a good time to accumulate this stock. Its priced much lower than its intrinsic value because of recent bad news ( resignation of chairman , worries on commodities , the coal mine Gloucester in australia etc etc.. ) I have personally started to accumulate greedy last few days as the price bottomed. This company has good fundamentals..... and its selling for cheap.

Goldenarg is also a decent company. Great ROE , with good prospects.... but now is not the time. Its too expensive . Anything less than 50 cents will only make financial sense

A little note on genting . There is a lot going on recently, and for good reasons too. If you haven got in yet, wait for a pull back. If you are a momentum investor , there is a killing to be made here. Everyone is talking about it, everyone is investing in it . I do see a lil slide in the future but i think its not so soon. There is still someway to go up.

Just my 2 cents

Genting SP is not overprice, in fact it still a bargain price if the current earnings can be maintain. Although my return for this stock is already 100%, I still feels it's worth to hold longer as the casino operations is just started around 1/2 year and the true company value is not fully reflected in the shares price yet. If today the Genting SP is dropping then I will consider to buy some to add to my portfolio. When the stock reach $2 soon then you will feel that at this is still very attractive.
