Updated mine last night, no obvious improvement, anyone knows what has changed?

Garmin Mobile XT still take as long to lock satellites, and crashed after a few minutes, no difference in this aspect.

Anyone knows how to get Ovi Maps Drive running?

I m thinking of getting this phone (regardless of hardware issue) or N79
One thing though...

The camera..

Can someone post few pics?

Actually i m student, and i msearching for a phone that can 'snap' timetable, notes (save time to jot down on notebooks, and yet still readable).. icon_question.gif

N79's 5mpix for sure could do that.
what about e55's 3mpix? hmm.gif

there ia a difference because A-gps will use data from ur network via 3g or edge to help the satellite know ur position. If just gps mean it uses straight satellite and usually takes 1-2 Mins on a good receiver. Using A-gps incures some data charges but just GPS is totally free.

Go to ur phone settings and then select positioning methods and only tick integrated gps and leave the rest including agps un ticked.

Then test the results.

this has been discussed many times..without A-GPS, it'll take minutes to lock gps signal.. with A-GPS, it'll take seconds..and the 3G charges aint that bad, supposedly something like cents or point cents for every lock.

i'm not sure if u know but camera quality, best if you go with sony ericsson phones... anyhow, 3.2mp camera by nokia should be just fine to suit your purpose, just be sure to press 'focus' before you snap...if u use E71, that'd be 't' to focus..

neither do i, but i do hv interest to own one..

for what i understand, the E52 does not have focusing mechanism. in return it uses a deeper than usual depth-of-field (DOF) to capture anything clear from 1m (ft.?) away.
this actually allow it to have quicker than usual shutter speed according to some.

e52 is using fixed-focus mechanism, like u mentioned above. So almost like autofocus, only thing is must take object more than 1m away. If you take photo of text, still possible but u'll have to play with the distance between camera and text few times until u get a focus, then only can snap.

so this will be not convenient if msh8h plans to snap timetable and textbook notes and such...go for e71! tongue.gif

1) Get and install the Nokua Software Updater (NSU) http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-so...software-update
2) Connect your E52 in PC Suite Mode
3) NSU will connect to Nokia and downloads the new updates, size around 148MB.
4) After updating, the E52 will reboot, and enjoy the latest firmware.

I just updated my E52, few minutes ago, and hope everything works fine. My first impression... it seem to be much quicker or responsive.

With previous version, I can make my E52 reboot itself by browsiing a Internet pages with huge images/pictures. Other than that, no critical issue. Never hang during receiveing, making and answering calls.
