Job Title : Tech Support (Level 1)
Job Responsibilities : PC, mainframe software, network, PC software. (low level only, cannot fix, call the expert..Level 2)
Company : MNC, HQ in US
Industry : IT
Employment Level : Small potato
Experience before joining : 1 year
Duration with current company: 1 year, 2 months
Salary : Started at RM 2.9k (basic pay + allowance, haven't + OT yet), but after 6 months get increment to RM 3.2k (due to excellent work performance)
DOWNSIDE : Work from 10pm to 7am (US Central Hours)...must work on M'sian holidays!

BUT!

I "get" promoted to another department, Network Security (Level 2)
My pay DROPPED to RM2.7!

Reason: I was stupid to accept it quickly. New boss say accept the offer to transfer to the new department, then will revise my salary.

Only after accepting in, my new boss say I will not be getting increment, no allowance as well due to the fact that I will be working normal business hours

After some dicussion, the new boss say the next salary review will be coming in 3 - 5 months time, he will review and revise my salary then...

If my salary still the same.........


What do you guys think?

Should I crawl back to my old job? Downside is no life.

Or stick to the new post? Maybe this will present a better career path?

Any advise from experienced IT professionals?
This deduction is killing me, need to support younger sister for college, pay for car etc...

wos...you starting pay is standard.

My first job with a shitty local company was only RM 1.5k.
