But he's a diploma holder.

Why not complete a degree? Else you've got to find ways into pushing yourself into taking bigger job responsibilities. By doing so, employers will look at your previous job history rather than your academic qualification.

How old is your dad? Is there a single dish that your family's famous for?

I would go for food business. Just open one hawker stall - post retirement work. Small modal, not so much pressure, can earn basic income. You have the choice to decide what time to open, which meal to open work (breakfast, lunch, or dinner).

If your dish is tasty, you can earn more than you expect.
