QUOTE(reveur @ Sep 10 2005, 08:14 PM)
I wrote 1.4k for 2 job that i went to interview for. I was called back to interview on on job 2 days after that and the interviewee asked me if i get less then 1.4k will i still work here? I was like WTF? Still want to cut my salary ?? So i answered him back. In your opinion do u think 1.4k can survive in kl? He said no. So i told him no. less then 1.4k i wont take it.
Good ar?
And the 2nd interview that i went to. The HR manager told me 1.4k cannot survive in kl. Gave me the Q&A form back and let me reanswer it after the interview ends. i wrote 1.8k tongue.gif Now waiting for reply from the company. Both of them..

reveur... regarding the salary column... my point of view...
u have three ways to fill it...
1) write a solid figure (Eg: RM1.8k)
2) write a solid figure which u think is a bit higher and put negotiable [Eg: RM2k (negotiable)]
3) write 'Negotiable' and answer it during interview when they ask

basically, a lot of ppl says the second method works best... they write higher and the hiring manager will deduct RM200 from the amount u expected usually... but that is not always true... i went for the 3rd method most of the time and the employer will think u r a bit different... coz not many ppl write negotiable (without an amount)... so u might have some bargaining power here... just my 2 cents smile.gif

how much is an E&E Engineering (mmu) fresh graduate deserve for a head start?
ask for fren.

There is nothing like a deserve start laugh.gif It depends a lot on which states you are in. I will just compare the pays in KL (Puchong, PJ, Shah Alam) and Penang (with all the MSC companies). In KL (which includes the 3 places stated earlier), the average pay for an engineer (be it EE or Mech) is around RM2k. However, it is different if you are working in huge companies like Accenture or Oil & Gas Companies. On the other hand, in Penang (or Kulim), the average pay is approximately RM2.4 - 2.5k. It will be higher if a person is a first class degree holder.

oh thanks
so range is around 2-2.5k

not bad
compare to IT and Design
wow IT n design really underpaid
*
nope shinchan... the range is between 1.8k to 2k as in KL cases...
But there might be petrol allowances that accumulates to RM300 per month... And if the person is working in factories, there might be OT claims as well. So, it depends really. But as for basic salary, it is not RM2k to 2.5k... more like RM1.8k to RM2k, unless you are in Oil & Gas or big MSC companies.
