Hmm..I'm new here and the whole reason I registered was because of this topic. I need some advice from the experts here.

Education level: Associate's Degree in Retail Marketing and Merchandising, Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, CGPA 4.00/4.00

Location: Currently based in New York

Work Exp: 1 year with MNC in related field
                Retail experience (6 months) and
                2 internships (3 months each)
Total = 2 years working experience

I am wondering if it would be unreasonable to ask for a salary of rm3200 from a MNC (preferably Fashion or FMCG industry) if I return to KL with these qualifications, considering that the salary here would be USD3k+

when we r looking for a job, don't always look at how high is the offer but how potential is the prospect . earning big bucks fr US or SG is nothing to shout about , but how far can u go with the job is more important. working for big / Top500 company will give u a platform as a start but the ladders to climb is higher n more steps to take, along the way there are lots of rules, regulations n protocols to follow, which makes u a good follower. to start with a small company might not give u a good foundation but a good stage to grow urself independently as many of time u r required to do one-leg-kicking task , green light is easier to obtain as access for plan approval is closer and faster, exposures are different....

Currently I'm working as MNC A. Recently i got an offer from a singapore company B but located in Malaysia.
The salary package offer is above average, should i quit my job and go for the company B?
If i turn down the offer sure got a lot ppl said i'm stupid, but i dun really like the new company as its smaller and i still ok with my current job.

small company got more room for u to grow n develop..... icon_rolleyes.gif

Feels like I've read it before from somewhere.
Anyway....

- Small companies can get plan approval much faster, that's for sure, because it's just a small project.
- Might be able to learn everything in a small company, but that is just what we think, because the everything that we have learnt is just a small portion of the actual thing out there. Probably what we learn is just enough to start another small company?
*
there is no right or wrong , small company is small coz it take sometime to grow , and the experience u get by growing together with company is definitely can't compare with wat u get from big company, small company can be big in few yrs time if it is at the right trend of the economy . big company is established even b4 u n i were born, we can learn alot of systematic stuff from it and utilise these knowledge when u join smaller company. as for personal growth , an example here : i hav 2 seniors, both started with MNC, 2yrs later , 1st one decided to join smaller company , 2nd one moved to another MNC , another 2yrs passed, 1st senior become area manager , 2nd senior moved to another smaller MNC . 1yr later, 1st senior become national manager , 2nd senior still on his way working hard to be promoted as a manager.... icon_rolleyes.gif

Come on, with the right trend of economy, both you and I can become a millionaire in a few years time.
Hope it's so easy.
I don't think we judge a company is big or not based on its age.
Is Google big? It was established after I was born.
I don't know how old you are anyway.
You can't prove something with just an example.
This could be just one in a million. smile.gif
