How to compare IQ btw them?

D5000 IQ is very close to D90 since both models are using the same Image sensor. Just that D90 come with better hardware specs like dual dials, top lcd, brighter viewfinder, in body af motor etc.

I never try 500D before but if got enough cash just go for D90.

actually D90 is considered a semi-pro la.

a lot of D300 users which to "downgrade" to D90, the specs itself even matching the 40D / 50D and even the older brother D300 already enough to categorize it as semi-pro.

Is it complicated for beginners to use 500D or D90?

IMHO, comparison should be done in this way:

quality + luxury + excitement + whatever-you-feel-good / price = index of worthiness

so we can compare proton saga with lamborghini diablo. it depends on yourself, whether the factor of self indulge worth the price.

D90 is my choice.

it's biased la. you're comparing a D90 to a 500D! of course la D90 better.

that's RM 3.2k vs RM 4.2k goods - who on earth with a little bit of brain would expect the RM 3.2k goods to be better la?

*look at the size of D90, straight already can tell you it's a higher grade stuff*

if anyone wants to compare, 500D vs D5000 should be it.
