my ex-GF's vios G dugong's dashboards looks really nice but upon closer scrutiny, the dashboard is made of hard cheap plastic and i can forsee in time, there will be some rattlings.

hi guys, i'm going to SC for my 10k service soon and i think it's cheaper to do my tires alignment, balancing and rotation outside of the SC? the SC charges RM60.50, do u all think it's reasonable or i better go outside to do it? it won't void my warranthy right?

thanks!
*
it will not Void any warranty if you change ur tires outside also...

QUOTE(vios2002 @ Feb 27 2010, 08:58 PM)
yes you can do out side this part will not void your warranty, outside shop have more experience doing alignment ... all the machine is about the same but that also depend on how often they calibrate they machine for accuracy.
*
SC sub out to outside also la... Toyota NEVER have Wheel department and also Air-cond department...

I would send my ride to the subang SC for servicing. But i would not let them do the tyre servicing as i prefer to let the tyre shops to handle this. Well so far everything's good in SC service center.

yes... so far i did not know... but i know they always sub out to outside...
so it is not a good choice... did that once, complaint after 1000km alignment gone... then ask them to redo, but until 5000km my left tire wears a lot faster compare to others... so ask them to check again they wanna charge but my dad wack them coz how come 5000km tire almost like 30-~40% used already... so after i come back i still do not trust them ask a shop to check at the end found out that the left one still out by 2~3 degree (with computer printed result slip)... so complaint to HQ, they send a apology letter... my fren told me no need to go back for that... if ur air-cond system u wanna service and u don mind paying like what they are charging at SC, better go to Denso Glenmarie or Denso recognised center lo...

Agreed with travis....if u looking for a fun car to drive in city..the new Vios definitely is one of them.

It's kind of difficult to entirely explain the whole feeling....u just need to drive it around for a while and u will know the meaning of "comfort driving".

Chippy acceleration, can do tight corners easily, good height sitting view, easy maintenance and great fuel comsuption.

yeah i agreed with u and travis.
vios is a fun car to drive. powerful yet fuel efficient.

city is only good for highway usage(16-18km/l). coz of the 5th gear ratio 0.5 and hard suspension.
but not a ideal car for city usage (9-10km/l).
city low end torque very poor. damn suffer during climb hills or even slightly up slope road.

That's why we can see Vios sales has been pick-up tremendously in 2009 althought the model was release end 2007 early 2008.

As words, recommendation and testimonial goes around after a year or two, lots of youngster beginning to know the true facts of Vios advantages and decided the switch.

Agreed 100%. I was looking for a car that allows me to have fun spirited driving but with good FC and fits my wallet well. I cant look no further than the vios.

The new city looks great but i ended up dissapointed during the test drive. The KIA forte was not out but i wont want one as i dont want to be in a car who named "Killed in Accident".

I might wait for the mazda 2 if i havent got my vios but who knows i might be dissapointed again. But when i test drove the vios, man that the car for me! cool2.gif

not really a lot la... fren... just a lil only... not really much... maybe from 500km/tank to 480km/tank??? or 14km/L to 13km/L???
actually FC depends a lot on a lot a lot of things... the way u drive is very personal, the traffic of the section that u always go thru... the road condition, a lots of humps or up and down slopes or traffic lights or stop n go... the stop and accelerate progress is very personal as you timing u press ur accelerator sometimes might affect ur acceleration also...
as you say new dugong will has a delay of pick-up/acceleration but ppl still tough it has no power and press more...
y not u try like that release the brake pedal... let it roll for 1~2 sec then u press a lil on the accelerator... see if there is any difference... and when u press the accelerator pls press gently not half way...

haha well as you say it is for higher speed drive like 90 km/h onwards... not much issues la... y not try Yokohama C Drive??? i think u can take Hankook V12 directional tires but what i scare is the sound insulation of ur car...
cos directional tires tends to make a lil more noise than Asymmetric/Symmetric pattern tires...

XM1 don have that size...Primacy LC has it...
others 195/55 R15 comfort with performance recommendation is Falken 912 or Yokohama ES501 (if not mistaken the code)
Yokies ES501 is a lil expensive lo if you don mind... from Japan so call premium quiet tires...
directional tires is a lil more noisy only depends on ur requirement...
if you don mind or u are doing sound insulation on ur car, u can try Toyo DRB, Hankook V12... both also not bad on comfort...

@McRyan - How about you try Michelin PP2 195/55/R15.

Heard it's good in wet but no sure if noisy or not.
I intend to try it once my current set of tyres worn out.

PP2 is nice 3 set used... now try others UHP tires... using Hankook V12 now, comfort and more grippy than PP2 in wet but hydroplaning resistance is not that good (which i wan better at least 110km/h at highway in wet still ok, PP2 able to do that better than V12)
but he insisted on comfort... i told him PP2 side wall is a bit hard but ok for Toyota's soft suspension setup i think he did not wan to change n change again...

my next target now mostly on Toyo T1R... b4 i jump back to PP2 next year kua...
